The Billion Dollar retrofit of trump’s flying palace grift from Qatar is happening, and you and I are paying for it.
The cost is actually classified - of course it is.
The so-called “gift” was given with no conditions.
The US Air Force accepted the gift.
So why would they give away a jet to a private citizen, having spent a billion dollars OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS on upgrading it?

I recall hearing it was transferred from one part of the defense budget to this project when the BBB was passed but it wasn't part of the bill.

No biggie, they are pulling that funding from the Sentinel program that is tasked with modernizing our nuclear weapons.

But don't worry, that program is being "restructured" anyhow.

This jet will never be ready in time to be used as AF1, for Trump at least.

Boeing is building two Air Force Ones at a cost of $5.6 billion.

So America will have three Presidential jets at a cost of $2.2 billion each.

In addition Sikorsky has a multi-billion dollar contract to provide a total of 23 Marine 1 helicopters. 23!

No other country would do something this fiscally irresponsible. Why do Americans put up with this shit?

The plane, at least, has the virtue of being used. As for the nukes we have way more than we actually need so throwing any more money at them seems like a total waste to me.

Especially an older house. The Minuteman III missiles are too old to effectively maintain at reliable readiness.

No doubt the US could do with fewer missiles but whatever is in place needs to be maintained as you would for any sophisticated military equipment like a fighter jet.
