Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the majority leader, called the selection of Judge Jackson “an important step toward ensuring the Supreme Court reflects the nation as a whole.” He promised a “prompt” hearing in the Judiciary Committee and said he would then move immediately for her confirmation by the full Senate. “I have no doubt that Judge Jackson would make an outstanding Supreme Court justice,” he said in a statement.Eight days ought to be enough to certify Biden's SCOTUS candidate. That is how many days the McConnell and the GOP took to certify their last candidate for the court. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
Interesting that Jackson was also on Obama's short list when he nominated Garland and Paul Ryan defended her. She is related to him by marriage. Ryan was in the House not the Senate so he wouldn't have votedShe's already been confirmed by the senate for district judge, so just save time and confirm her for the high court.

If what McConnell stated in the thread's title is accurate, I'm wondering why he said that the confirmation needed to be slowed down? Would something like 3-5 days be all that terrible in McConnell's world compared to 8 days? Is he thinking that it would make him look bad if the Senate GOP cooperated under 8 days?Eight days ought to be enough to certify Biden's SCOTUS candidate. Biden is a lame duck president, and the Supreme Court seat should be left open until the next election
Mitch, is that you?Biden is a lame duck president, and the Supreme Court seat should be left open until the next election
Do as I say, not as I do says mitch.Eight days ought to be enough to certify Biden's SCOTUS candidate. That is how many days the McConnell and the GOP took to certify their last candidate for the court. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
What BS..........that argument is old and stinky.Biden is a lame duck president, and the Supreme Court seat should be left open until the next election
Oooooh, buddy....have YOU got a limited memory! She is going to be confirmed.
But the GOP can do two things here:
1, Engage with her substantively about Constitutional issues. This will at least force Democrats to defend their 'living' constitutional nonsense.
2. In doing the above, they can show how a normal confirmation hearing can and should be. Instead of a repeat of the sh#tshow the Democrats had treated us to the past couple of nominations.
recalibrate your sarcasm meter. Is this nominee moderate or very conservative?

What is her position on women's right to choose, voters rights and equal pay for women?
