Eight days ought to be enough to certify Biden's SCOTUS candidate. That is how many days the McConnell and the GOP took to certify their last candidate for the court. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

She's already been confirmed by the senate for district judge, so just save time and confirm her for the high court.

He needs to be sure the usual GOP suspects have enough time to be their normal obnoxious selves.

Interesting that Jackson was also on Obama's short list when he nominated Garland and Paul Ryan defended her. She is related to him by marriage. Ryan was in the House not the Senate so he wouldn't have voted

Flashback: February 26, 2016

This Potential Supreme Court Nominee Is Family to House Speaker Paul Ryan

The fight over President Obama’s eventual Supreme Court nominee could get personal for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

One of names being floated as a possible pick is someone who Ryan calls family: D.C. District Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Connected by marriage, Jackson’s husband, Patrick Jackson, is the twin brother of Ryan’s brother-in-law William Jackson.

Ryan even testified on Brown’s behalf when she was nominated to the district court in 2012, offering his “unequivocal” endorsement of her qualifications in recommending her for the bench.

“Our politics may differ, but my praise for Ketanji’s intellect, for her character, for her integrity is unequivocal,”
Ryan said at her December 2012 nomination hearing. “She’s an amazing person, and I favorably recommend her consideration.”

“We’re family, by marriage,” Ryan explained in the 2012 hearing. “Her brother and sister-in-law, who are my brother and sister-in-law, William and Dana Jackson, are here with us as well today.”

Straight-up, who cares?

McConnel nuked the filibuster, and Dem's have the votes.

Give the GOP some time to go on the record, and be done with it.

If what McConnell stated in the thread's title is accurate, I'm wondering why he said that the confirmation needed to be slowed down? Would something like 3-5 days be all that terrible in McConnell's world compared to 8 days? Is he thinking that it would make him look bad if the Senate GOP cooperated under 8 days?

Oh, for goodness' sake!

We are not children.

We know that the Senate would not dare turn down her appointment.

So why don't Mitch and all the Republicans stop playing games and vote YES after all the Dem Senators give us the required laudatory comments on what a great Justice she will make.

Then the Senate can confirm her by a unanimous vote of YES.

The next day the lib media can wax lyrical about the historic vote and what wonderful progress is being made for diversity and equity and what a wonderful man President Biden is and blah blah blah.

Biden is a lame duck president, and the Supreme Court seat should be left open until the next election 😉

She is going to be confirmed.

But the GOP can do two things here:

1, Engage with her substantively about Constitutional issues. This will at least force Democrats to defend their 'living' constitutional nonsense.

2. In doing the above, they can show how a normal confirmation hearing can and should be. Instead of a repeat of the sh#tshow the Democrats had treated us to the past couple of nominations.

What is her position on women's right to choose, voters rights and equal pay for women?

What do we know?

Defending the "Living Constitution," she can cite the Heller decision.

@Razoo what the public might know about her is likely based on the level of interest they have in finding that out. She has faced three Senate confirmation hearings, the last for what is arguably the second most prominent court in the land, I'm certain her testimony is publicly available.
