Maybe we should all just wait on actual official announcements on the Charlie Kirk shooter

Except Kash Patel's FBI is not trustworthy either but...

Seriously, information comes out, then is quietly retracted or just left out there as lies.

The other day the Guardian shared that a high school classmate of Tyler Robinson said he was "left" in his political views. They corrected the story the next day.

Now we have the new plot twist of Robinson's roommate being trans. The person who "broke" the story has a history of fake news.

In a rush to be the first with breaking news, it seems media outlets are getting it wrong. And please, never depend on social media posts. Both sides are photoshopping pictures of Robinson so he's wearing a Trump shirt or a Kamala Harris shirt, and now even some are photoshopping masks on him saying "would a conservative wear a mask?!?"

I know it's fun speculating but people keep ending up with egg on their faces.

Good luck with that!

Sadly with many it isn't as simple as speculation or musing. It's rushing to embrace something that promotes their hatred and prejudices and/or demonizes their perceived enemies and shifts blame. The speed with which they latch on to conspiracy theories is astounding and once they have no amount of facts move them.

I never ever post anything about a crime based on 'early media reports' leaks or publishes 'leads'. I have watched way too many normally good posters go to the mat over information that turns out to be a crock of garbage. It's so embarrassing. Let the police thoroughly investigate this, and get your facts on which you expect to post opinion from what they finally are willing to report to the DA's office.

IMO, it's okay to speculate based on the information at hand. Where folks get into trouble is leaping to a conclusion -- most often one favorable to their world view -- and then being unwilling to adjust their speculation based on new evidence.

In other words, when you're guessing, there's nothing wrong with being proven wrong. Just know that you're guessing.

This might be a dumb question but why is the FBI involved? Seems like, this sort of thing, they should just be providing support to local law enforcement. Lab services and such.

Very odd they took the lead too.Likely because Trump wanted it . He instantly saw the political opportunity. I'll give him credit for that his publicity sense is excellent.

Always has been. You just NOW noticed?

Not at all. Just another example of him using tragedy and hatred to pump the base . What he doesn't get, or maybe he doesn't care, is that it only works in a positive way with the base.
You use ANY topic and nearly every post you add to exhibit your Trump "hate". You don't need a tragedy - it doesn't matter the topic. What you don't get, or maybe don't care, is that it only resonates with those as hate obsessed over Trump as you are.

Yep, nearly every one of the hateful anti-Trump's accusations is a confession.
Our President's severest critics don't own mirrors.

I am not hate obsessed with Trump. I see his rhetoric and actions as divisive , hateful and detrimental to me, my family, my country, your country and the world. Others embrace it and celebrate it, thankfully a minority. It's a choice thing.

That's how I see your rhetoric. This isn't even your country, yet you spend your days nearly solely in discussions about our country - stirring the pot and adding to/feeding divisiveness.

But you can't get threads with 6k+ posts of the blame game in less than 4 days if you wait on facts.

Indeed, right out of the gate, you can’t get all the - this is all because of democrats/haters inciteful rhetoric! Democrats/haters need to stop their rhetoric!

This is all because Trump is called Hitler, Nazi!
( The same man who calls people communists, marxists, evil, scum, the enemy within and a whole lot more on a continual basis, all of which cult45/47 excuses, minimizes, laughs about, and mocks anyone who calls it out.

Continually excusing things like this below, ( literally calling his opponent at the time a terrorist ) while praising and worshipping the person who spews it.

Nothing makes cult45/47 flip faster than when faced with the vile/heated/inciteful rhetoric that comes from the man currently in the oval office and/or coming from anyone in his orbit. The excuses, the minimizing, the mocking of anyone who calls him out is plain to see.

Nothing also makes cult45/47 flip faster than when violence is committed against someone on the ‘other side’. Then it flips to the individual is solely responsible for their actions, no one can make anyone commit crimes, the person who committed the crime is just crazy.

You're free to see it how you wish but it doesn't make it so. The fact it is not my country is irrelevant. It impacts me, my family ,my country and my world.

It's a political forum. Speculation happens. I bet you don't complain too much when someone speculates on the left.

Quit whining. Everyone has the right to opine.

Imagine blaming a Canadian for stirring the pot.

You trumpies are just off the rails. It's you.

You should say all sides rather than both. There is nothing binary about the situation.

People are speculating all sorts of things, trying to paint the shooter as a liberal or further to the right than Kirk.

And ?
