Maybe the DOJ should not have gotten rid of those experienced people.

It is generally an accepted truth that experience usually trumps pure talent. Take any endeavor and the experienced person usually has the advantage.

The DOJ has forced out a lot of experienced lawyers because they are not loyal to Trump first. This is an issue, because new people will make mistakes the older hands won’t.

Now it is totally normal for an internal memo to outline weakness in the case. It allows for people to get together and address those issues. So the memo itself isn’t an issue. But that memo should never be seen in the light of day. Submitting that memo by mistake is a catastrophe for the case.

These sorts of mistakes are much more common when you have younger or less experienced people. By submitting that document the DOJ just shot down their own arguments. And you can’t go back and pretend it didn’t happen. Once you file something, you are stuck with it.

Pushing out the Trump Enemies has resulted in many such incidents. The newer people have less experience and are stretched thin by vacancies. But this is normal for Trump. Where quality is second to loyalty.

Trump's rule reminds of the scene from The Death of Stalin where they can't find any competent doctors to treat him after his illness because he killed or banished them all. The incompetent ones that remained were too terrified to make a decision.
