Sitting in it at the moment. Internet on the phone works, but normal calling does not. Funny enough I can call on my Danish number to Denmark (it uses roaming in Spain), but not to a Spanish number.

Latest info is that a fault in Southern France knocked everything out.

I hope the repairs can happen and power is restored as soon as possible, PeteEU.

Strange that they do not list a cause yet.

I was watching the Madrid Open with great interest as Jacob Fearnley was causing Dmitrov some problems with his match points.

They would have been able to continue with backup power but they can't move the spider cam out of the way.

So for now the matches are suspended.

Latest latest info is things should be back to normal in 6 to 10 hours.
Wow that's really disruptive. Good thing this didn't happen in the middle of summer when temperatures are warm.

Yea, but the interesting thing will be why. Technically the country did not lose power since the power usage halved instantly around 1230. Signs are maybe pointing to a forest fire in southern France that damaged power infrastructure that sent a surge through the system and knocked it out.

There are a lot of Wind Turbines and Solar farms near Madrid. From AP-6 leading Northwest out of Madrid
one can see a lot of wind Turbines, and solar fields. I hope they figure it out quickly.

It surprises me that western Europe's grid is so interconnected. It's not great from a security standpoint

Fortunately they're far enough away that they don't have to worry about American aggression.

Lol. Just gotta watch those tariffs. I actually wondered if this was a hack. It's suspicious because environmental causes are usually detected within hours. Thanks!!
