Kelzie said:And in the next 20 years, gay marriage will be legal.
Navy Pride said:I am really pleased by this ruling in Mass............I never thought it would happen...........I think this shows that these activist judges realize they made a huge mistake in their last ruling and are now trying to make up for it......
I figured in the next 5 years that 49 out of 50 states would have amendments banning gay marriage......It is like a flood raging over the land...........It is good to see that in Mass. the people will have a say to.......
Navy Pride said:Not as long as this is a Christian/Judo country........What are you going to do about all those states and their constitutional amendments banning gay marriage?

I would not get overly excited about this new ruling...
"But such a vote "might not be the end of the story," the court said. "The only effect of a positive vote will be to make same-sex couples, and their families, unequal to everyone else; this is discrimination in its rawest form,"
"If the initiative is approved by the Legislature and ultimately adopted, there will be time enough, if an appropriate lawsuit is brought, for this court to resolve the question whether our constitution can be home to provisions that are apparently mutually inconsistent and irreconcilable.""

The Mass. Court is basically saying that it can stop the Amendment.
Navy Pride said:Let them try to over rule the will of the people......You would think you liberals would learn after you tried to steal the 2000 presidential election by over ruling the will of the people in Florida........
You ever hear of a court called the Supreme Court of the United States?
Alex said:You ever heard of the will of the people in Mass. is to ALLOW same-sex marriage?
Kelzie said:Unfortunately the polls don't support your opinion. Gay marriage will be legal in this country. And amendments can be rescinded. Prohibition would be a great example.
Navy Pride said:Not quite the same thing when you stamp on peoples religeous beliefs...It only fires them up more.....That is why a lot of state are even banning civil unions in their amendments.........
Navy Pride said:The people of Mass have not had a chance to vote on the issue yet.......that is what this is all about..........Have another snort on what your sniffing......
Kelzie said:This doesn't address my post at all.

Navy Pride said:Your point is your opinion and we all know what they are like........
Alex said:Religious beliefs are dying also.
"the proportion of the population that can be classified as Christian has declined from eighty-six in 1990 to seventy-seven percent in 2001; "
"the greatest increase in absolute as well as in percentage terms has been among those adults who do not subscribe to any religious identification; their number has more than doubled from 14.3 million in 1990 to 29.4 million in 2001; their proportion has grown from just eight percent of the total in 1990 to over fourteen percent in 2001"

Navy Pride said:Yeah your right there......Its getting like Sodom and Gommoroh and we all know what happened then....
Kelzie said:My point is backed up by scientific polls. Your post didn't address it.
Alex said:Navy Pride, you crack me up.
Navy Pride said:I am just trying to figure out why I have never been nor has anyone I know ever been polled on the issue....
Navy Pride said:Kind of reminds me of the polls prior to the 2004 elections that showed President Bush at about 45% and all the liberals were delirious because no president has ever been elected with less then a 50% approval rating........Well we know what happened don't we kelzie?
I wouldn't bet my house on polls if I were you........
Kelzie said:Man cause there's 300 million people in the US! And I have been polled before, thanks, on gay marriage in Colorado.
That has nothing to do with the polls. That is an observation based off of previous polls and it is certainly possible for new records to be set.
Navy Pride said:Yeah your right there......Its getting like Sodom and Gommoroh and we all know what happened then....
Kandahar said:I thought you weren't very religious yourself? Are you saying you're a sodomite?

Geekybrunette said:Ah yes, and the will of the people was once that blacks could be slaves.
Or that blacks didn't have the right to use the same bathroom, fountain, school, etc.
Or that gays didn't have the same legal rights to housing, employment, etc. In fact in many states it still is this way (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
It was also the will of the people at one point that what two homosexuals do in the privacy of their own bedroom was an ILLEGAL act.
Maybe we should have just kept things that way. After all, it was the will of the people in those states.
