Yeah, but as long as he nominally stays in the party, we control the committee chairs.quote
Manchin sits with Republicans during State of the Union
Sen. Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia, opted to sit on the Republicans' side of the House chamber during President Biden's first State of the Union address.
end quote
We already knew why Manchin was determined to defeat Biden's Agenda... He's been beholding to the money angle of greed that is a Republican Devotion, and anything that can and will help the people and give the people voice to challenge the "greed gouging done by the wealthy" Manchin will always contort and play spin games but continue to default to backing Republican Ideology on anything concerning his personal money stream and he detest anything that will help American Families or the Big Picture Advancement of America.
Bi-partisanship is a lie and excuse he uses for cover for voting against Democrats. He hides behind the phrase. He takes bi-partisanship very seriously. Even to the point of jettisoning his own bill.
They're both 'brand building' trying to 'look moderate'. Notice Romney didn't sit with him on the Democratic side.I heard the point was to sit next to Mitt Romney, who according to most right wing Republicans is about the biggest RINO there is. It appears to be a statement in favor partisan moderation rather than a defection.

Both Romney and Manchin are men with a conscience unlike most on either side of the aisle. Politicians? Yes, but patriots who refuse to be controlled by either party platform or poisonous ideologues. They are men with balls unlike Joe Biden who is controlled by both of the aforementioned.I heard the point was to sit next to Mitt Romney, who according to most right wing Republicans is about the biggest RINO there is. Almost a seriously as his coal baron status. He takes bi-partisanship very seriously.
Saying it doesn’t make it so.Republicans are the Big Tent party, unlike the intolerant Democrat zealots
I agree, Republicans need to be let off the chain so they can vote for bills put forth by Democrats.Good for Manchin, more members of congress should shed the party line politics that create deadlock in DC
Insult Trump get called RINORepublicans are the Big Tent party, unlike the intolerant Democrat zealots
If they are good bills they should if they are bad bills then Democrats need to stand up and say no.I agree, Republicans need to be let off the chain so they can vote for bills put forth by Democrats.
Since when is diversity a credential synonymous with success? We’re seeing a world teetering on the edge of war. Nuclear war, potentially. How has the diversity of this administration been of any benefit? We don’t need diversity right now. We need peace.Saying it doesn’t make it so.
The GOP is as diverse as pre 1990 Augusta National.
I'm sure Cheney feels it...
I don't care where he sits. He helped to sink voting rights.
