We built the ghettos. We made the economic system that created ghettos. We made the culture. It's our problem. We need to address it.
If society doesn't like what society has made, society should contribute to fixing the problem.

If a welfare recipient doesn't want to be drug tested, they can get off welfare.
Do the inhabitants of the ghettos need to be participants in the addressing of the problem? They could start by cleaning up the place. What's with all the trash lying about?
Okay, so who gets to decide the method of solving the problem? And what are your solutions?
There is a difference between being free to leave and having the opportunity to leave. Freedom without means isn't particularly valuable.and if someone doesn't like where they are, they are free to leave.
Clearly, the residents of the inner city ghettos must like them.
Liberals don't want ghettos. Liberals don't see ghettos as fair punishment for economic or cultural deviance. Liberals don't see ghettos as motivation for change. Liberals see ghettos as the societal failures they are.Liberals don't want black folks to leave the ghettos.
Targeting random cops for killing does seem historic, I'll give you that.

I'm not justifying it, but it seems cops have gotten out of hand themselves quite a bit lately. Maybe they should sell their armored personnel carriers and military uniforms, and go back to being cops instead of military wannabes

It essy to insist that cops rid themselves of protective equipment, when it's not you taking the risks.

Wait...holy **** drug testing costs 178 million? Who the **** is paying the governor off for that contract?

So now you are saying that the right thing to do might cost too much money? I'm trying to understand your position at a practical level, not just from the "we can do better" point of view.
You say that society has made society, which is all well and good, but if members of society don't like the solutions imposed on them by society, then what? It might even be categorized as "tough love".
They are over militarized. They start acting like stormtroopers after they start looking like them.
Lol, just another case of libs inflating the cost of something, then crying because it costs too much.
The governor is Republican..:lamo
Your ability to demonize is greater than your ability to analyze unfortunately.Of course Libbos want ghettos. Ghettos vote 90%+ Democrat. Which do you think Liberal politicians value most, people, or votes? Tammany Hall is alive and well, in the Democrat Party.
A bus ticket to where there are jobs available isn't all that expensive.
I know lots of people who have left for greener pastures to get away from places where opportunities are lacking. It's not all that difficult, but then, it is easier just to stay put and let Uncle Sam take care of you.
I don't agree with your premise that demanding urine samples of the poor is a realistic or effective solution to the multifaceted issue of poverty in America. So now you are saying that the right thing to do might cost too much money? Every able bodied person has the opportunity to leave. The trouble is, it's too much like work.
You mean the system that was implemented by a republican?Lol, just another case of libs inflating the cost of something, then crying because it costs too much.

You're really showing your partisan hackitude if you're blaming liberals for the bureaucracy in a republican led state, performing a republican led bill, that was created by republican think tanks. No, I mean the bureaucratic nightmare that is the halls of government.
