Man drug out of his car for "filming" an ICE raid. We have fascism in America.

I looked this up. Turns out there was an Arturo Hermosillo arrested for filming an ICE raid on June 20, and a Job Garcia arrested for filming an ICE raid on June 19. Both stories mention potential circumstances that might have contributed to the arrest (a bumped car, a shouted challenge) but neither is actual justification for an arrest without a lot more unstated backstory.

The context I need is ... how many people are filming ICE raids in L.A. every day? I can picture every single one surrounded by 50 cell phones, in which case this might not be a case of suppressing the news. But for all I know the people have already gotten the message and these were the only two who tried?

So can we get a clickable link to the KTLA 'details' within the link instead of a screenshot of their post?

I wouldn't mind getting some details of what he says, since he is apparently free to be 'saying' something to the news.
Does he have video of the encounter and what led up to it?

More to the story than a screenshot.

Found it. This was Job Garcia.
In the video, agents are heard telling the man to step out of his truck before they used a baton to smash the driver’s side window.

“They broke his window and that’s when all the bystanders who were recording said, ‘You have no right to be doing that!’” Garcia said.

Garcia and several others walked over to the man being detained and began informing him of his rights. Video showed one federal agent growing agitated and stepping forward as yelling could be heard from bystanders.

“That’s when he lunged at me,” Garcia said. “I’m still recording, so he pushes me and puts both hands on me and I push his hand off and he didn’t like that.”

The agent grabbed Garcia’s left hand and tackled him to the ground. Several agents quickly ran over and helped forcefully pin Garcia to the ground.
As you expected, the situation is not as advertised. Which is what I'd expect from social media. I'm not saying ICE was right - I don't know that at all - but this wasn't a guy simply filming from his truck. Though it's possible the social media poster innocently confused this case from the one who bumped a car while trying to make way for (supposedly) ambulance access after being spotted filming.

There's no substitute for serious, in depth reporting, for having a free and functional news media that is unafraid to do its job. On this case, so far, even my perception is 95% prejudice, 5% information, and I think I'm at the top of the curve on this particular thread.

Informing people of their rights is a bad thing in Trump’s fascist America.

ICE is wasting tax dollars and filling the pockets of Trump’s cronies by detaining for example those who seek asylum, journalists and people who criticize Israel’s war in Gaza.

Let's not go full-on TDS here. If I see a cop has a speeder pulled over by the side of the road, do I really think I can pull over, walk on up to the car while the cop is standing there talking, and start telling the guy he doesn't have to take a Breathalyzer if he doesn't want to? Arguably there's an element of fascism to that too, but if so it vastly predates Trump.

Well that's exactly the same as being 'forcefully removed from their vehicle'!

If they stay far enough away that there is no physical contact or physical impedance, sure. That’s perfectly fine and opposing it a sign of Trump’s fascist America.

Here is some video.

A couple of things.

I don't see any place where he was warned.

Why does it take a dozen Federal agents to bring in one person?

Why don't the ICE agents have body cams?

Yeah, can't count the times I have watched Live PD or such to see someone getting in the middle of something, an officer telling them to back off as they are interfering with an investigation. Informed if they keep it up, they will be detained.

They persist, and get their ass cuffed.

You can talk to people on a traffic stop. Obstructing an official duty has to be a physical act. Not filming. Not speaking.

Getting close up on the officer on his stop is another thing, but nobody is suggesting doing that but you.

Good job tons of white women voters, MAGA, idiots, perks who don't care about their own children...

MAGAt thugs are going to push normal American citizens too far.
