Which have been ruled unconstitutional? The judge are saying likely to be, or likely to show, but nothing is declared in most of these. It's delaying BS.Talk about weaponized government. Wingnuts are just fine with it.
It's abuse of power by the fascist scumbag!Which have been ruled unconstitutional? The judge are saying likely to be, or likely to show, but nothing is declared in most of these. It's delaying BS.
but loan forgiveness was ok even when scotus said Biden didnt have the authoroty to do so. As always the left doesn't give a shit about legal, they just claim whatever position they take is the law and everything else is unconstitutional. It's abuse of power by the fascist scumbag!
..."Using the powers of the federal government to target lawyers for their representation of clients and avowed progressive employment policies in an overt attempt to suppress and punish certain viewpoints, however, is contrary to the Constitution, which requires that the government respond to dissenting or unpopular speech or ideas with 'tolerance, not coercion,'" Howell wrote.Talk about weaponized government. Its like bankruptcy for students. Your orange Jesus is quite familiar with it. Loan forgiveness, oh the horror! Better we ship US citizens to concentration camps.but loan forgiveness was ok even when scotus said Biden didnt have the authoroty to do so. She found that the executive order violates the First, Fifth and Sixth amendments to the Constitution.
The decision from Howell, who sits on the U.S. district court in Washington, D.C., is the first summary ruling in one of four cases brought by law firms that have been penalized by the president as a result of their associations with people and causes he disfavors. In addition to Perkins Coie, the firms Jenner & Block, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, and Susman Godfrey have also filed lawsuits challenging their respective executive orders....
The executive orders are all similar. They call for the immediate suspension of any active security clearances held by firm employees. They direct government agencies to require contractors to disclose any business with the firms, require agency leaders to review all contracts with the firms or entities that do business with them, and limit firm employees' access to federal buildings and government workers.
When taken together, Howell said the directives support Perkins Coie's assertion that Mr. Trump has mounted a campaign of "using the power of the presidency to target individual lawyers and law firms associated with them based on personal dislike of their legal work — in other words, for retribution."...
Fascists prefer it. They like rules and order as long as the rules are fascist rules. Citizens are happiest when they have strict rules to follow. It is much easier than people thinking for themselves.
People should not challenge the leader to which they are devoted.
Thomas Woodrow Wilson was an American politician and academic who served as the 28th president of the United States from 1913 to 1921. A member of the Democratic Party, Wilson served as the president of Princeton University and as the governor of New Jersey before winning the 1912 presidential election.
Hearst did not invent the slogan “America First”; he borrowed it from Woodrow Wilson—so he could hurl it back at the president. After World War I broke out, Wilson used the “motto” of “America First” to define his version of neutrality: The United States should bide its time and husband its resources until the warring powers had “carried the thing so far” that they “must be disposed of”—then America would wade in and sort Europe out.

Lindbergh's presence resulted in increased criticism that America First embraced overt anti-Semitism and fascist sympathies. Historian Susan Dunn has ...
Lots of words, I don't see their relevance re Judge Howell's ruling. So here, again, there are certain Community members bringing out that stuff about fascism.
Fine, then there won't be anything against a bit of a history lesson that starts with an earlier Democratic Party president:
So I suppose y'all have to publicly disown that former Democratic Party president or some clever individual might accuse some of you of being hypocrites?
Or will we now see that same style oft used: Oh, that was so long ago that it don't count you trumper trumpist jerk! (I have to practice that slander stuff, as I am working on a slander vaccine, as noted in another thread recently.)
Judge Howell determined that trump's action against BigLaw firm Perkins Coie violates the 1st, 5th, and 6th Amendments (see Post #8).Which have been ruled unconstitutional? The judge are saying likely to be, or likely to show, but nothing is declared in most of these. It's delaying BS.

I think your post would better illustrate two wrongs don’t make a right…So here, again, there are certain Community members bringing out that stuff about fascism.

What are you talking about? The Supreme Court's decision stood. The loans that the SCOTUS said Biden couldn't forgive were, in fact, not forgiven.but loan forgiveness was ok even when scotus said Biden didnt have the authoroty to do so. As always the left doesn't give a shit about legal, they just claim whatever position they take is the law and everything else is unconstitutional.
Responding to your last statement about "Oh, that was so long ago"...that is usually what you guys use when folks bring up slavery. So here, again, there are certain Community members bringing out that stuff about fascism.

As Trump doesn't seem to actualy know what he's signing before he signs the document I really hope one of his underlings decides to prank him by giving him an EO that actually says that he's retiring and leaving office with immediate effect.
Then he can see how it feels to suddenly not have a job just like all the public workers he's fired.

BTW, if you really want a history lesson on the phrase "America First"...
First used as a policy called "putting America first" by the Know-Nothing-Party, aka the American Party...which were largely xenophobic, thought the Catholics were trying to undermine religious freedom, started a riot in Louisville that killed 22 people, started a riot in Baltimore when caught in election fraud and met their demise when the party couldn't come to consensus over slavery. They ran on keeping immigrants and non-Protestants out.
Woodrow Wilson (D), as you pointed out, used the America First policy of non-intervention in wars outside of North and South America. It was foreign policy based on neutrality, which benefited American businesses, especially weapon and munitions makers, to sell to both Axis and Allied powers. It only ended when Wilson could no longer ignore Germany as a threat via the Zimmerman telegram and acts of sabotage, the Black Tom explosion being the most notable.
Warren Harding (R), used it as part of his platform much as Wilson initially did. He was able to take advantage of the KKK's support and votes by his desire to limit immigration and not to decry KKK's more violent actions towards immigrants and Catholics. The KKK were supporters of the American Party wing that wanted to continue slavery and identified Harding as someone who would support their cause against immigration of any kind.
The America First Committee was mixed bag of political parties and ideologies: Democrats, Nazis (yes, American Nazis like Lindbergh)and...Republicans. The group was slammed for their anti-Semitic and anti-immigration and whose membership gradually started to become majority Republican as WW2 came closer. The group basically became powerless after Pearl Harbor when the GOP could no longer advocate a neutral stance...as Wilson tried for in WW1.
David Duke, while like Trump, shopped around political parties to see who would actually elect him, landed on the Republican party and ran on the American First immigration platform...basically anti-Semitism and xenophobia. To be fair to Trump in his party-shopping, he never dallied with the Neo Nazis as Duke did.
So, while you CAN say that Democrats had used the America First slogan/policies...you HAVE to acknowledge that conservatives were more prevalent in the usage of it. Also, while you CAN point to some Democrats involved in the more unsavory policies of America First (notably the America First Committee)...you HAVE to acknowledge that more conservatives were involved with the unsavory elements of America First than Democrats, historically speaking.
So when you say the Democrats have to publicly disown Wilson for America First...you would have to do the same for Harding, a conservative, as well. And those conservatives involved with America First as well.
...that is usually what you guys use when folks bring up slavery.
I am an Independent. I have voted and supported Republicans in the past. At one time I seriously considered becoming a libertarian. I voted for and supported Obama and voted for Biden. I voted for and supported Kamala.
I damn sure never supported Trump. As with many people the world over it was clear to me early on that Trump was inept and unqualified. Not long after he started to campaign it was obvious Trump was seriously mentally ill. His illness is progressive and that is unquestionable.
No matter who does it bad is bad and wrong is wrong. Stupid, poorly educated, criminal, mentally ill, mendacious, greedy, poor character apply to political people of all persuasions. At present the single most critical threat to democracy is Donald Trump. The greatest threat to peace and prosperity is Donald Trump. The single greatest threat to freedom is Donald Trump. Trump is a fascist.
