It is obvious that there are an abundance of abortion advocates on this site. The position seems to be that the female has the right to do with her body what she wants. Ok, here is a topic for discussion from the male perspective. Suppose that a male finds out that the female is pregnant with his child. He tells her that he does not want the child and that she needs to abort the baby. He documents his request. She says it is her body and she will do what she wants to do. She decides to have the child.

She wants child support from the male. Why is the male responsible? Should the male be responsible given that he advocated for an abortion? By having the baby, didn't the female accept all responsibility for that child?

Discuss.

The man made his choice when he decided to have sex with her. That is a classic one too.
She wants child support from the male. Why is the male responsible?
Because the female should be able to do whatever she wants and have other people pay for her choice.
Should the male be responsible given that he advocated for an abortion? By having the baby, didn't the female accept all responsibility for that child?
She did... but most people don't care.
Why don't you give your opinion on the matter?

This isnt the first time this has been discussed but it IS a fair discussion. If we accept that mothers and only mothers have the right to have their own babies butchered in the name of convenience and the father has no say, then the father should have a right to abort his responsibilities for the baby.

Fair is fair.

No. I understand the concept, but what you suggest gives males a free pass on contraception responsibility, and that isn't fair to the females in many circumstances. The current situation where the male is forced to share the responsibility for any contraceptive failure is more likely to result in less unwanted pregnancies. there is also the fact that an abortion is not just like popping an aspirin. It is more complicated both physically and emotionally, so again it is unfair to load that burden totally on the vulnerable female.

Are you saying that the woman can not say no if he will not use a condom?

Nothing about it is fair...

So it is for men that jump into a raging river to save a child when the woman can't/won't or men that go down with the ship so that it is 'women and children first'.
totally on the vulnerable female.
Vulnerable... you added that and it is irrelevant.

Risk, reward/consequence.

A child NEEDS support by its creators.

1. Because he shares responsibility for the child's existence.

2. The males ability to abort no longer exists post conception.

3. No.

Basically the same answers as in every previous thread asking the same questions.
Both action and inaction can result in the burden of responsibility. Choose the correct action when/while the opportunity exists, or at least learn from mistakes.

Do women equally share the decision to keep a baby? Why would you expect women to have total autonomy to end heir parental responsibilities by slaughtering their baby against the wishes of a man but not the man have the right to terminate his parental responsibilities?

So you would say that the WOMAN should share responsibility for the childs existence and should not be able to abort post conception...right?

THAT, is a choice ONLY the Woman is put in a position to make.

Then in fairness the man should have the right to terminate his responsibility as well. And lets be honest...we are talking about a man not paying in the name of convenience vs a woman killing a baby in the name of convenience...so...it seems the choice of the man would be the lesser of two evils and CERTAINLY something you would support.

It takes TWO to tango.

The feminism movement took a wrong turn.

Getting an abortion is like filling your car up with fuel.

They are taking mens rights away while taking womens rights away with the Trans movement.

It’s all political propaganda to brainwash women into thinking they can do no wrong and they are in control of the universe.

It’s because of technology. Feeds people propaganda they embrace ruining for themselves and others.

It’s a sick disease.

He knows before they have sex that she has the final say on the pregnancy. Why should he not be held accountable for his choice to take that risk?

Even the "champion" of the opt-out scam admits it's not legal:

That has happened and been thrown out by the Judge. Pre-birth contracts are irrelevant compared to the interest of the child.

The child has a statutory right to support from both parents, no matter what either wants and it's not dependent on income.

His right/ability to choose ended when he didn't exercise it but instead transferred it to the Woman.

And you dont think the woman played a role in that choice?

You realize how hypocritical your position is...right?

In my plan, the Father has no say, but the mother must go to jail too, for fifteen days.

After fifteen weeks, fifteen days.

Go for no exceptions, if you lose your baby you go to jail.

Fairness to whom? Certainly not the kid or the taxpayers.

Can you explain why the 2 people who knowingly risked producing the kid shouldnt be held responsible for supporting it rather than the taxpayers, who had nothing to do with that event? How could that be 'more' fair?

I'm good with that, as long as it works both ways. If she remains pregnant and is too sick to work and loses her job, he gets fired too. If she suffers kidney failure during pregnancy, he gets one of his removed. If she dies during childbirth, he's put to death.

Seems inline with the 'equal outcome' some insist on, right?

@VanceMack as well. You said, "fair is fair" right?

He remains free to move on, leaving the Woman alone to parent the child, only being responsible for a share of the cost of providing the needs of a child he left the Woman having to make the decision choose between abortion or birth.

Well, you can't put him in jail and give her the scepter.

And you dont think the woman played a role in that choice?

You realize how hypocritical your position is...right?

But he knew that before he decided to risk having sex with her. He made the choice to hand over his reproductive status to her. Right?

So then why shouldnt he be held responsible for that decision?

You're claiming the Woman used force?

Not at all.

There is no possibility of "fairness" in this situation. The roles and consequences for men and women are not equivalent. Pregnancy, whether aborted or carried to term, poses a real, potentially life-threatening physical risk to the woman that it does not pose to the man. It is "fair" that the woman gets the decision making power over how to deal with the pregnancy? No. But it is less unfair than giving that power to the man. You are comparing apples and oranges. And, as @Lursa has pointed out to you and others countless times on these forums, if you are advocating for the rights of the unborn, then advocate also for their right to have two parents responsible for their wellbeing. A man cannot cast aside his responsibility to the child, and his responsibility cannot be relinquished by the mother. Saying that a man can decide not to fulfill his responsibilities to his child because the woman had the option to "butcher" the baby and chose not to makes zero ****ing sense. It's saying basically, "hey your mom didn't kill you so I don't have to take care of you."
