You gay marriage backers have a long way to go....
Same-sex marriage in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This as it should be.... if the majority of the voters in a State votes to ban or allow gay marriage, the people of that State that don't like the outcome of the vote have the option to go to another State that more closely follows their values. If the Fed is allowed to "homogenize" the law, and either ban gay marriage for all States, or force gay marriage on all States, a certain percentage of the population will be disenfranchised, and the diversity of our country will be compromised.
Crunch I did check the graph, and quite being dishonest, and you look at the graph again because what I saw was 47% being pro choice while only 45% being pro life which means the 47% would out weight the 45% in a democracy. Hell frankly I don't care what it is called I was just asking how he saw a majority was pro life when it was obvious the higher number was on the pro choice side.
And about this gay marriage thing, I also frankly don't care if they do get married since it is their legal right to do so. It not a moral issues that should be left out of politics.
It's not a moral issue if one takes fundamental rights into account. Fundamental rights are those that are not granted by the state. They are above them, and they trump all else. "Fundamental rights are a generally-regarded set of entitlements in the context of a legal system, wherein such system is itself said to be based upon this same set of basic, fundamental, or inalienable entitlements or "rights." Such rights thus belong without presumption or cost of privilege to all human beings under such jurisdiction." - Link
There's nothing moral about that. It is in fact lacking any moral context.
Tim-
And I agree that gay marriage should be a right under the laws of the constitution but a lot of people against gay marriage bring up that its a moral issue which I don't think it is a moral issue. And the fact the bring up religion as to why they think the government shouldn't recognize the marriage in question.
This is why I don't take the anti gay marriage crowd seriously.

I did state that the majority support restricted abortions
If you look at this statistic it shows the majority consider themselves to be pro-life (even though it's minute)
Abortion
Although this thread isn't about abortion, and I don't want to derail it. The point I am making is that the trend is increasing towards being pro-life (with them now being a small majority) while the trend is becoming for favorable towards SSM. The reality though, is that many states have passed marriage definitions that exclude homosexuality, and to my knowledge no state has done the opposite via a popular election.
Digsbee quite being dishonest that thing doesn't saying anything about the majority being pro life it does however say the opposite that 47% are pro choice while only 45% are pro life. How does 45% equal the majority of the population when obviously the higher number are the people that are pro choice?
I also say this will be a growing trend, since the older generations are dieing out while the younger people who hang out with gays, and Lesbians know they are great people who shouldn't be demonized. They are the closest friend a person could have, since I know a couple of Homosexuals that are friends of my sister they're great people who deserve to be able to get married . Screw anyone who wants to take that away from people because god told you too do so.
I think you best go back and look at that again..... what I saw was 46% pro-life and 45.5% pro-choice...... I'm guessing the missing 1.5% didn't have an opinion.
BTW……. That makes pro-life a majority.
You know that DOMA lost in court just recently didn't you? DOMA lost, Prop 8 lost, more and more people are starting to support gay marriage. It's not a good trend for you.
Gay-rights advocates scored a major victory Thursday as a federal judge in Boston ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act — a measure Congress passed in 1996 to prevent the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriage—is unconstitutional.
Judge Joseph Tauro said the federal government essentially had no business seeking to regulate marriage rules, which he said have traditionally been the exclusive province of the states.
“The government’s argument assumes that Congress has some interest in a uniform definition of marriage for purposes of determining federal rights, benefits, and privileges. There is no such interest,” Tauro wrote in ruling on a pair of lawsuits challenging the anti-gay marriage law known as DOMA.
It still makes it a purist my mistake about the number damn small print that is close to gather. However it still wouldn't be a majority it is still a plurality. However in the link it say that 53% say its good thing for America on the second page.
From the moral, aspect of the thing it seem its most of the liberal ideas are wining however Abortion is a potentiality issue for a lot of people.
Basically it seems that abortion is namely a real divided issues between Americans. However the law is not on the pro life side, since woman have a right to privacy.
In the past was less than 2 years ago Redress. 3 votes, all struck down. This is one single poll with as others have pointed out a misleading question.
CNN Poll huh.....I could get a poll from FOX that would say that 90% of all people are against gay marriage.........Why didn't you just get a poll from moveon.org? If gay marriage is so popular why does it get defeated soundly every time its on a state ballot.....It just does not compute my left wing friends........

Do you believe gays and lesbians should be:
SCALE: 1. Allowed to get legally married, 2. Allowed a legal partnership
similar to but not called marriage, or 3. Should there be no legal recognition
given to gay and lesbian relationships? 4. (Don’t know)

I can't tell you how pleased I am that many Republicans are learning nothing from this. Please, keep right on alienating everyone who isn't white, Christian and straight. We will take everyone else, and of course we also have white, straight Christians on our side as well. Guess which group will end up with a permanent majority?
Which are, of course, still higher than the GOP's approval ratings (and, I might add, about the same as where Reagan's were at this point in his administration.)We see that in Obama's approval ratings

Even so, it misses the point; this is not about a specific politician, it's about the future of your party. To win, you need to get moderates. Any party that moves too far to one extreme is going to lose.
Want to compare them to Bush at the same time in his presidency?
