One of the biggest and most idiotic things about traffic stops, that often leads to cops creating issues, fishing, excuses... is that they make people sign the ticket. There is no need to as this video shows. This cop just says he will mail the ticket in.

But that's bad too, because now increasing revenue is just a matter of having some dumb pig drive around issuing mail-in tickets until he reaches his quota, and no, the roads won't be any safer.

Years ago when young, I got hit with a bullshit DC and refused to sign. Said it didn't matter, as it was pretty well just acknowledging the citation.

It didn't matter. Got filed and had a bench warrant.

I would imagine that he could have mailed it if he wanted to... whether de did or didn't, they could.

They want you to sign as a promise to appear in court if you if you don't want to pay as well.
