Chief of the Pakistani intelligence service the ISI, Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmad ordered that $100,000 be placed into the account of alleged lead September 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta.

Ahmad Umar Sheikh (b. 1936 in Britain) performed the actual wire of the money from Dubai to Atta's Florida bank account, US President George W. Bush personally ordered that Mahmoud not be investigated, because of the obvious implications to the Pakistani government's involvement in the 9/11 attacks. The money originated with the United States government, Mahmoud was suspended on 8 October 2001, and "retired," i.e. dismissed, soon thereafter.

16 July, 2002 Omar Saeed Sheikh was sentenced to death for abducting and murdering US journalist Daniel Pearl, he was born in London, attended the London School of Economics and was a close associate of Maulana Azhar Masood - founder of the banned Jaish e Mohammad (JEM) group, which India blames for an attack on its parliament in December 2001.

Update: August 2009.. He remains in prison in Pakistan, awaiting the outcome of his appeal against the death sentence for the murder of Daniel Pearl.

Why would an intelligence chief order such a thing himself, doesn't he have minions to do such mundane tasks for him? He isn't smart enough to go thru intermediaries to disquise the source of the funds?
What is the point here?

A chinese guy on this forum said this same thing awhile back. He gave specific names, dates, amounts and places of the money trail from U.S. Intelligence to Al Queda via the Pakistani Intelligence.

Kathatsung stated this in one of his long and weird posts.
