Locked door holds ICE agents off for four days ... or is that all part of the plan?

This one is uncommonly weird. A Nicaraguan illegal (i.e. former CBP One App user) is nearly taken at his car, runs home in a flash, slams the door just ahead of the ICE agent. The ICE agent kicks and kicks and kicks the door, visibly bulging it in as the frantic illegal and children pile on the door to hold it shut.

And then ... ICE backs off and does nothing for four days? Were they really defeated by a door? Don't they have battering rams?

I don't think this is going to turn out as badly for ICE as people think. It looks like they've started a "standoff", and now a parade of people are coming through to lend a hand, deliver food, spread the word ... my guess is the whole lot of them are going to get hit with extra heavy charges, just like if they had gotten involved in the first minute. I'd compare this to a fishing expedition, or better yet, one of those old Germany-Russia battles where a sniper takes somebody down in the middle of the street and keeps picking off the rescuers.

Once upon a time I had an admiration for ICE agents. No longer. I now consider them to be Trump Brownshirts. Masked sleazebags.

I don't include Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers in the above assessment. They do a good job at our borders and Ports of Entry.

Adding and abetting a criminal. Could get you in trouble. So either way the left will complain. Kick the door in, bad. Sit and wait, bad. Do your job of removing illegals, bad.

Except, CPB agent are now being used with ICE agents (all masked) to terrorize nonviolent illegal workers in Los Angeles.

Technically I wasn't complaining ... just commenting on a mystery. Also, the aiding and abetting idea is still (at this point) just a hypothesis.

CBP is evil and ICE is worse. And I don't think that's a controversial take.

ICE are basically low-rent gestapo.

CBP is two organizations in one. I have found very professional customs agents, and the joke here about border patrol is that you need a sufficiently long rap sheet to get hired.

Thus reminds me of what my brother-in-law told me. He used to manage apartments rented mostly by Latino textile workers. He said they'd be out in the street, parking lots and yards playing and socializing, but the second a government vehicle pulled up, they all vanished behind closed doors.

Here's border patrol acting as Trump's political police.

I’ve been thinking this for a while. These ICE, BP and various other agency officers have to be sweating their asses off dressed this way, at this time of year.
