It was just on the news. There was a good size group and all of them were republicans calling for santos to resign.

It will be interesting to see what happens. One thing for sure, he's not going to be in the House of Reps for the full 2 year term.

RINO I would tend to agree with you, but as a MAGA he has no responsibility to reality or truth; so long as he is effectively demonizing the Other, he will be accepted.

His MAGA is strong so they will love him.

He has no reason to resign. The whole point of this pathetic exercise was to prove he can lie his way to a congressional seat knowing 2/3 of the HoR will never remove him.

I don't think that the GOP will let him resign, considering their margin. He has to vote the MAGA agenda and take his beating from the press.

Still they should be on the record with their vote, imo.
 
How are they going to stop Gen Z women from having abortions when they need them if he resigns? They need him and the Senate and the presidency to crush Gen z.

My understanding is he can be booted from Congress if 2/3 vote to remove him. McCarthy is the only one who can bring that vote to the floor. So yes, in a way he has the power.

Remind us when Biden stole a checkbook. Remind us when Biden lied about graduating from colleges he never attended. Remind us when Biden took money under the guise of a non-existent animal rescue.

Nancy wouldn't have forced one of hers out but that is not a good standard to use.

He'll be charged with crimes. Elected R's will have to determine if a thin majority for a single term is worth a D controlled government for the foreseeable future.

He just said today after that press conference that he won't resign.

It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

It will require a majority of the House.

Correction: as noted by Blue Dog,

Article I, section 5 of the United States Constitution provides that "Each House [of Congress] may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."
