Wait till you find out about minority business loans. Gonna blowed your mind up.The Providence Rhode Island School Board set up a system that would allow teachers, after 3 years of service, to qualify for $25,000 loan forgiveness programs. IOWs, they would pay that amount to teachers who had student debt. There was one caveat. You can not be White in order to receive this money. What say you?

Sounds like it was money raised for that purpose by a private charity. The Rhode Island Foundation raised $3.1 million in 2021 to provide loan forgiveness to more than 100 teachers of color as an incentive to work for the district.
"At that time, students of color represented approximately 80% of enrollment in the District while just ~20% of educators identified as educators of color. Increasing the diversity of our teaching force is not only aligned with the core values of the District, but also has a direct, positive impact on student outcomes as demonstrated by years of educational research," the Providence Schools Superintendent Javier Montañez wrote in a letter to the school board.

... and your point? Can a public school board distribute monies based on race? Isn't that illegal?America’s public school teachers are far less racially and ethnically diverse than their students
While the share of Black, Hispanic and Asian American teachers has increased, it hasn’t kept pace with the growth in the diversity of students.www.pewresearch.org
I disagree. EVERYTHING gets Righties' underwear in a wad. I mean EVERYTHING. If a teacher sneezes it's gotta be woke.Few things get righties' underwear in a wad more than student loan forgiveness.
What you posted does seem, on the surface, to be differential. HOWEVER, I have seen in my lifetime preferential treatment given to all minorities. So how do I react to that? Like a Rightie, and moan and groan? Nah, I get on with my life. YOU should try it some time. What say you?

When the Providence School Board took ownership of any monies, that is public monies and they fall under the Civil Rights Act. As an FYI, when I first became a teacher, I bought a TV and video player for my classroom. I also purchased VHS tapes that were kept in a school video library. When I changed schools, I was told by the principal of that school that all of that "stuff" now belonged to the school. I was not allowed to take it. Of course, that was 40 years ago.Sounds like it was money raised for that purpose by a private charity.
You could not help virtue signal. Hey, everyone, look at me. I am superior to Str8shooter. ROFLMAO!I disagree. EVERYTHING gets Righties' underwear in a wad. I mean EVERYTHING. If a teacher sneezes it's gotta be woke.

Depends. It's unclear from the website if they are actually distributing the money, or if they are just making their teachers aware of a grant available from a private charity. The former sounds unconstitutional...the latter is more of a gray area. They are definitely playing with fire having this on the school district's website, and having the Google Doc go to a school district email address though.... and your point? This is a reasonable response, so Gatsby, you did GREAT.Depends. Well when it's obvious it's obviousYou could not help virtue signal. Hey, everyone, look at me. I am superior to Str8shooter. ROFLMAO!
You mean ones of the type that were found unconstitutional by a federal court last year?Wait till you find out about minority business loans. Gonna blowed your mind up.
First of all, $25000 ain't squat when it comes to what they oweThe Providence Rhode Island School Board set up a system that would allow teachers, after 3 years of service, to qualify for $25,000 loan forgiveness programs. And if that private charity decided to administer the program itself and repay the loans that way, it would likely pass scrutiny. However, the lead bullet point states "PPSD is offering loan forgiveness." Not the charity. Further, the disbursements "will be made directly to your student loan providers through the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority." RISLA is a governmental body formed by state statute. Because the loans are being repaid by monies provided to the state, and disbursed by it, the payments are plausibly considered a state action. That the funds were provided on the condition that "whitey need not apply" doesn't absolve the state of its responsibility to not discriminate in its acts.Sounds like it was money raised for that purpose by a private charity.
... of course, that is not the point. Are you suggesting that $25,000 matters more for paying off student loans to other races than it does to whites?First of all, $25000 ain't squat when it comes to what they owe
Is there a "second..." or is this irrelevant assumption all you have to offer?First of all, $25000 ain't squat when it comes to what they owe
I am an ex expert so, there is that. I've found that those who claim to be experts don't know the a...h.... from a hole in the ground.Well when it's obvious it's obvious
Use a different argument. Republicans saying a Texas judge needs to be respected on a ruling will forever be lolYou mean ones of the type that were found unconstitutional by a federal court last year?
Blowed? Is this some sort of 5th dimensional blowed?Wait till you find out about minority business loans. Gonna blowed your mind up.
No.Use a different argument.
Not a Republican.Republicans saying
Your opinion here is what's "lol."a Texas judge needs to be respected on a ruling will forever be lol
It's private money from a non-profit.... and your point? Can a public school board distribute monies based on race? Isn't that illegal?
