On November 21, 1999, Elián's mother, her partner, and Elián fled Cuba by boat as part of a group of refugees attempting to reach the United States. The boat sank during the journey, and Elián's mother, along with most of the passengers, drowned. Oh wait, no. He was returned to his FATHER who went thru the COURTS to get custody when his mother died. Righties lost their shiite because the father was in Cuba and threw the idea of father's rights right out the crazy window.

I remember this distinctly. The kid and his mom were on an overloaded boat that sank. The mom and many others drowned. The kid was found floating on an inner tube by fisherman.

I wanted the kid to stay, I mean his mom gave her life to get him here.
