A bit late for that now, if a few accounts have generated that many views that means the clip is out there beyond control.
 
Such a snowflake move from such a superstar legend is disappointing to see. It's like he thinks he should be untouchable, while simultaneously admitting that he's quite touchable indeed. People appreciate it when you're a good sport about being roasted, and they often don't when you're not. All this will do is bring more attention to the video, and negative attention to himself.

I'm highly doubtful an AI video meant to be funny is going to damage him financially in any way.

This is about letting the tears flow.

Now, if someone generates something defamatory that someone may possibly take as true, then by all means.

Disney would go after a grieving family putting characters on a headstone or daycare center wall murals.

This just seems like part of the real v AI fight over brand and content. So far, AI is winning and may even be too late to stop the wholesale theft.

Never heard about it. I could maybe see the daycare situation, as they are using it in a business sense to make it inviting and potentially more business. But the headstone? Not like they are profiting, just greiving.

It is his likeness and ability to monetize it that is the issue.

A person making a video of his likeness and making money of it can lead to his ability to restrict say a shoe company from using AI to generate an ad using his likeness to promote their shoes without compensation to LeBron

Unfortunately any company that has IP or trademarks have to protect it or potentially lose control over it
