Lawsuit accuses Trump Admin of illegally deporting five African immigrants to Ghana in “straitjackets” as “end run” around court orders

I know you're a dedicated MAGA member.

I know you have subsumed any regard for the rule of law, for decency, for common kindness, for generosity, for ethical living, to slavish devotion to trump.

Nothing I say can or will make a difference. You're happy where you are. No obligations to anyone, no obligation to follow laws, to follow rules or norms. That's the appeal of trump. Well, that and his penchant for cruelty, which has MAGA has allowed to infect its soul as well.

It is not clear why being locked up in an American detention center is a sign of decency, kindness, generosity etc etc

More from the wapo article:

...Among the five plaintiffs in the AAAJ lawsuit, three are from Nigeria and two are from Gambia. The plaintiff who has already been returned to Gambia, where same-sex relationships are criminalized, was granted protection by U.S. judges because of his bisexuality, according to the complaint. He was taken to Gambia without any “formal processing or valid travel documents” after landing in Ghana, the complaint said, and remains in hiding in his home country. Another plaintiff is married to a U.S. citizen, and his “petition for alien relative,” which verifies the couple are lawfully married, was approved four months ago, the complaint said.

None of the plaintiffs have ties to Ghana or listed it as a potential country for removal during their immigration proceedings, the complaint said.

The plaintiffs were deported in the middle of the night on Sept. 5, the complaint said. They were taken from their cells at the ICE detention center in Alexandria, Louisiana, and flown to Ghana aboard a U.S. military cargo plane, according to the complaint.

During their flight, four of the five plaintiffs were “placed in straitjackets and remained in the straitjackets for approximately 16 hours,” the complaint said. They were provided only bread and water, and had to remain shackled while using the bathroom, according to the complaint.

When they arrived in Ghana, some of the plaintiffs went to an outdoor camp where the conditions were “abysmal and deplorable,” the complaint said, adding that there was inadequate running water and no permanent shelter besides tents.

The complaint is asking the court to order the government to “immediately facilitate the return of Plaintiffs to the United States” and to stop the Trump administration “from relying on or using Ghana as a transit hub in removal proceedings.”

Didn't a Federal judge or even SCOTUS say that every deportee has to be given prior notice of where he or she is being sent, and afforded the opportunity to contest the deportation?

They were informed.

I haven't said it is. Don't put words in my mouth. That you have shows you're not posting in good faith.

That you believe deporting a bisexual back to Gambia, where bisexuality is illegal, is okay says way too much about you.

That you uphold trump's evasion of the law says way too much about you.

That you believe I accept your "word" for anything whatsoever is....well, thanks for the laugh.

He was deported to Ghana.

You just keep repeating yourself here. There's no use continuing to try to discuss this with you - especially after you've misrepresented what I've said, in your Post #76.

I've made clear my rejection of trump's lawlessness on this issue. You, on the other hand, have made clear you support trump's lawless actions on this issue. That's a very huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge and unbridgeable gulf between the two of us.

But you MAGA like trump's breaking rules, breaking laws, defying judicial orders.

What about this do you find attractive?
They LOVE Trump breaking laws as they cheer Trump going after perceived lawbreakers.

🤯🤯

Well, its not lawless. The judge did not order it reversed.

As for the rest, they have to go somewhere if their home country won't take them back.

Well, its not lawless.
After the Trump national nightmare is over not only will there be tons of NEW crimes uncovered there will be tons of Trump's people (not protected by the Supreme Court) who will be in prison for all the lawlessness.

That's why Gavin Newsom should probably be the nominee. He won't ***** out like Gerald Ford did.
