It will be difficult for AGW alarmist to continue their California drought narrative but I'm sure they will spin this into even more evidence of global warming.
Stay tuned. This should be fun.

"According to the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab, this snowstorm surpassed December 1970 as the snowiest December ever recorded by the institute Monday afternoon — and as of Tuesday, is nearing the mark for snowiest month ever recorded since 1970 — with more than 202 inches falling this month. The record was 238 inches in the month of January 2017."

Oh, we already had someone totally disprove AGW by noting that one day, it was really cold in a town in the UK. They'll probably be by to cheer, so I suppose you can look forward to that.

You'll have to forgive me if I think "it snowed a ton one time near this lake!" isn't any less hilariously stupid.

Global warming simply means that extreme weather patterns will be the norm. Some places may benefit, for the time being, other places will be devastating
for the populace.
They're told for more frequenty extreme weather events are predicted as average temp rises, so they try to use individual instances of extreme weather to.....disprove AGW. And they actually think they're being clever.

Amazing, isn't it?

Amazing how these anecdotes prove nothing.

Finding one event that you believe confirms the whole global warming thing is just a shtick to take money from the gullible does little more than show your unwillingness to learn.
For example:
Warm, wet weather across Alaska causes havoc and breaks records

Anchorage saw brief freezing rain on Tuesday afternoon, but temperatures rose above freezing and much of the precipitation fell as regular rain, which lessened the impact of the storm, said meteorologist Joe Wegman of the National Weather Service on Wednesday morning.

Records for precipitation and high temperatures have been set across the region during the last few days. The most recent storm in Fairbanks marked this as wettest December on record and the third wettest day overall.

Alaska hits 67 degrees, setting new December record

Kodiak smashed its previous monthly record by 20 degrees, meanwhile other towns are experiencing anomalous rain.

Yup...

What the evidence is or what the causations might be makes no difference.

All evidence points to AGW and certain death for all in the future.

WE MUST ACT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thread is on record Sierra snowfall and AGW alarmist California drought narrative. You can run but you can't hide.
What about record temperatures in AL? I've been wearing shorts the last few days. Must be AGW, right?

If this snowfall fills lake mead in the spring I will agree with you.

here's a map of the world. i've placed a red dot on Lake Tahoe...

No single weather event proves or disproves global warming theory, but we can count on the science deniers to come up with a "Hey, it's cold and snowy, so the scientists who study global climate are wrong and the bloggers are right" sort of comment.

Here's a picture of that snow, in case you hadn't seen it:

Problem with Mead and California reservoirs is demand exceeds supply even in big runoff years. Too many people want too much water from source that can only supply so much.

come one come all!!!

everybody better hurry!

only about one more day left in 2021 and as you can see the competition for the 2021 dumbest tinfoil hat nutter post is steep!
posts as stupid as the one quoted above are!

😂🍿

That's really what you got outta this?
What's the alarmist take on this? Let me guess.
Record snow pack in Sierra mountains is evidence of global , and there's still a drought in California. LOL

How dare these folks want water, who do they think they are?

Cool pic. Wow!
As to your comment I made no such claim in the OP but I do claim as I stated this will make it difficult for alarmist such as yourself to continue the California drought narrative.
You didn't even try which I commend you for but you did try to deflect which is typical alarmist behavior when confronted with reality.

It's not who it's how many. Water in the arid SW is historically a finite resource but urban leftist Californians can't grasp that fact.
Inyo valley was sucked dry by LA a hundred years ago and they continue to do so today. Water wars in California started with the first settlers and also continue today.

Most of you confuse climate and weather. Weather is always changing.

Oh, it does look as if the California drought is over for now. That says absolutely nothing about global warming, which is, after all, global and not local, but the current drought is likely to be over for now.

That still won't solve California's water problem, which has been happening for decades now. Agriculture in California uses more water every year than nature gives us, even in wet years.

Did you know that the biggest freshwater lake in the country outside of the Great Lakes was once in the southern part of the Central Valley, near Bakersfield? Did you know that lake is gone now, just dry land?

And that happened before anyone even thought to call believers in modern science "alarmists."

The demise of a West Antarctic glacier poses the world’s biggest threat to raise sea levels before 2100 — and an ice shelf that’s holding it back from the sea could collapse within three to five years, scientists reported December 13 at the American Geophysical Union’s fall meeting in New Orleans.

Thwaites Glacier is “one of the largest, highest glaciers in Antarctica — it’s huge,” Ted Scambos, a glaciologist at the Boulder, Colo.–based Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, told reporters. Spanning 120 kilometers across, the glacier is roughly the size of Florida, and were the whole thing to fall into the ocean, it would raise sea levels by 65 centimeters, or more than two feet. Right now, its melting is responsible for about 4 percent of global sea level rise.

But a large portion of the glacier is about to lose its tenuous grip on the seafloor, and that will dramatically speed up its seaward slide, the researchers said. Since about 2004, the eastern third of Thwaites has been braced by a floating ice shelf, an extension of the glacier that juts out into the sea. Right now, the underbelly of that ice shelf is lodged against an underwater mountain located about 50 kilometers offshore. That pinning point is essentially helping to hold the whole mass of ice in place.
