.....“Donator” is an incorrect spelling of the word “Donor”. Some people claim this is a valid synonym for it, but we disagree. In real life, people don’t use the word “Donator”. It’s simply not idiomatic and we recommend you avoid it.

Is “Donator” a word, or not? The Cambridge Dictionary doesn’t recognize “Donator as a word. We agree with it. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary affirms that “Donator” is a synonym for “Donor”, but we wouldn’t ever use this word for this purpose......

We must be talking about Americans who can't spell a word correctly as it is, examples:

Color, when it should be colour
Flavor, when it should be flavour.
