Will martial law be declared.
Will this result in a Federal take-over?

LA Times owner: It's 'crazy we don't elect leaders with competence'

Los Angeles Times owner Dr. Pat Soon-Shiong said it's "crazy" his state doesn't elect leaders with "competence." As wildfires continue to rage across Los Angeles County, Soon-Shiong criticized LA Mayor Karen Bass
and Gov. Gavin Newsom's handling of the city before the crisis.

Political earthquake will come in wake of LA wildfires: George Will

Leadership in California and Los Angeles are being criticized as hundreds lose homes, businesses, schools and more in destructive wildfires.
"We built a major metropolitan area in a desert on a tectonic fault. We're risking things," NewsNation senior political contributor George Will says.
He says the state's government is busy "micromanaging" its residents' lives when people just want them to get the basics right.

As great as the destruction is, it's just a small part of greater LA. They're going to rebuild and life will go on, but errors in the past need to be corrected so something like this doesn't happen in the future. I should point out that earthquake preparedness has done a much better job than fire preparedness. One issue is that proper fire preparedness conflicts with environmental requirements and the left have chosen to prioritize the environment over public safety.

The “liberal media”

Why would the feds take over?

Where is “Snake Plissken” when you need him?

One interesting this is the destruction was so utterly complete. Homes burned down to literally nothing. No walls, no frame, only a few random few brick structures left. It's like a cremation.

Yeah, once it gets wind driven and there is all that fuel to consume, that fire will cook anything. Truly horrible and I imagine there will be a hard look at practices going forward. It'll will be interesting if the citizens have any kind of shift in thinking regarding the local/state gov't.

I always find it amusing that the term 'biblical level destruction' is based on the actions of a loving god.
Few lives have been lost, but tens of thousands have lost all their 'stuff'.

Far too early to talk about fatalities being low.

The Tubbs Fire, at the time the most destructive wildfire in California history, killed 22 people — nine within the city limits of Santa Rosa, Wine Country's largest city. More than 5,000 homes burned down, including over 3,000 in Santa Rosa — 5% of the city's housing stock. The number was low at the start of news reports. It grew as the ashes were cleared.

No different than when a tornado levels towns in the tornado alley I would imagine.

Perhaps preferable to when hurricanes and floods fill structures with water, then the mold starts to grow and people risk the health impacts of that when they’re tearing down what’s left of to rebuild.

🤷‍♀️

Definitely easier to rebuild. Also if you look at the streets, they're strangely clear of debris.
