Oh no! They said "Death to America" that must mean they are going to kill us all! :scared::scared:
Thats a magical story bro.
Could you possibly be more misinformed?
How can people defend this? Appealing to hardliners or not... It would only be a display of extreme weakness to negotiate with a nation where the supreme leader literally is saying death to America.
So I guess if some Republican was just pandering to his base by using racial slurs in a rural primarily white setting notorious for racial violence that's ok? Or what about someone pandering to a Nazi group by calling for Jewish genocide? They're just appealing to hardliners right?
Iran is a theocratic regime with horrible human rights violations, state sponsored terror and nothing really demonstrating that they should be trusted. If any negotiations are to take place the first step the US should take is to have Iranian leaders denounce past comments regarding death to America, death to Israel/Jews and other outrageous things. This is beyond absurd and such a foreign policy blunder if this isn't addressed.
We're talking about nuclear negotiations with a nation that funds terror, has made threats against us and Israel and during negotiations is still saying such things... How is it not a display of naivety and weakness for the US to not address this? How can you expect to negotiate and trust a nation that unapologetically calls for the destruction of your nation and its allies and continues to do so during a negotiation process? It's simply foolish, especially when the nation is known to be a crazy theocracy that funds terror and has a history of human rights violations.
Who plans on trusting them? Certainly not Obama. Verification, people in place who can watch things. Trust is not part of the equation.

yes. there really isn't much to be done about nukes. They would eventually get the weapon anyways if we just perpetually kept up sanctions. The emerging deal would push back the breakout time by months. A sensible agreement that isn't completely perfect is a much better option that a destructive war.
There are newer versions of the Iron Dome being worked on,and yes Obama's hostility to Israel is palpableNo this is what Obama wants. He could care less about Iran does with the money it will receive. Hamas and Hezbollah will get more missiles and he will then cut funding for Israel's iron dome. He is not as stupid as many think.
You do realize his speach was in support of a nuclear deal? Just wondered if you where aware of that. I mean we could not deal, and Iran will have nuclear weapons in a couple years, or we would have to invade them, or we could do as Reagan did and deal with the people in power, even when we do not much like them. Reagan would deal with terrorists, murderers, and downright evil people if he thought it was in US interest. So why do you hate Reagan?

So you're telling me he has enough of a head on his soldiers to negotiate with us even though public opinion is against it. This is bad how?
No one ever makes inflated claims as part of negotiations...

Wow, Iran is attempting to negotiate in the public sphere.
It's quite telling that you take their bluster seriously.
I wonder if our forums leftists will learn from this? Yeah right-this is what happens when you try to appease evil.
do you always believe in what politicians tell ?
as far as I know both of them are politiciansAfter 6 years of Obama, hell no.
So do you think Obama or Khamenei is lying?
I wish you had the same feelings about the other nations ,cubans for instanceAgree that what Bibi did was self-serving. Put himself in front of what is best for his country. I think he did it because he really believes in the threat to Israel. But he had to realize that the deal is going to happen. Making Israel a partisan issue was stupid. That being said I would hope that Obama is not so thin skinned as to punish all Israelis for it's leader's mistake.
Psssst...Obama's got this baby! Stop being naive and take a chill pill n stuff. :doh
Well, do we have to wait for the smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud over a US city?
and yes Obama's hostility to Israel is palpable
