Conservatism is fundamentally a hierarchical ideology. They need someone to look down on.
Not sure of that — at least not completely. Part of conservatives’ thoughts and preachings comes from a naive view of capitalism and at times, of how they achieved their own success, which was assisted by the government, often in ways that they forget about or don’t realize. And the great wealth of post WWII western societies makes many assume that if you are not doing ok economically, it’s your own fault.

Examples from my own work experience with farm laborers. California growers seemed to feel that it was them vs. the land and the weather. They seemed to forget that they had water for irrigation in the no-rainfall summers from government-built dams, water that was only to be available cheaply for 160 acres or 320 acres if married, but which rules were ignored. In addition, I believe they could count on a university system that might analyze their soil as to suitability for certain crops. Their workers had for decades none of the New Deal labor rights as to overtime, worker’s compensation, the right to organize, etc. Some of those rights came eventually, but I remember workers telling me how they used to be sprayed with pesticides while working, with females telling how they might have to trade sexual favors to labor contractors used by growers in order to get jobs. And tho the bracero program of importing temporary Mexican workers was instituted during WWII due to native workers going to war, this temporary emergency program didn’t end til 1964, 19 years after the war. And the first successful labor strike in agriculture occurred a year later.

So to your point, I think that it’s not that conservatives look down on others, but at times their experiences don’t have them understanding our hierarchy, if that’s what it can be called. And I repeat that some of them have the same blond faith in the free market as a godlike system as some leftist or Marxists do in class struggle as responsible for everything.

"These bones are optional so don't count as health care" is the dumbest ****ing position.

But thanks for showing how full of shit all right wingers have been forever. You want a nanny state. You're finally admitting it. You don't trust that parents know best what to spend their food budget on, so you want layer upon layer of bureaucrats deciding that for them.
You’re having a meltdown over government funded soda. Do you ever look in a mirror? 😂

What's awesome about this is that if a poor person lives in an economy apartment or SRO, they just starve.
