Anyone who is a fan of Ricky Gervais may well be aware of the genuis that is Karl Pilkington. To get a glavour of Karl Pilkington's uniqu mind, he is the man who when Ricky Gervais pointed out about some D-list celebrity "he is only famous because of who his father is", replied "yeah, but you could say the same about Jesus".
I became aware of his brand of thinking as a listener to the Ricky Gervais Show a few years back and recently bought 2 of his books. I have just finished reading one of those: Karlology - What I've learned So Far, which is genuinely the first book I have ever laughed continually at whilst reading.
The book is partly autobiographical in that he discusses much about his own life and revolves around his trips to various places like museums and art galleries, but he applies that to much larger philosophical and scientific issues but in the childlike manner that only he and an actual child would be capable of. So if you have ever thought 'do I control my brain or does my brain control me', or think that changing time would be a good idea because if you had a terminal illness and a doctor said you have 2 years to live (even though in time as we know it it is only one year), we will feel better, then this is the book for you.
