Kamala campaign raised over a billion, but is now $20 million in debt

That’s a 2% variance. Not bad.
 

Please get real. $20M is a pittance of a +one billion POTUS election drive. It is not at all unusual for campaign to close with a debt due when it’s finished. It’s almost always settled before long.

However, we can readily see and validate how many cities are owed large sums of money by Trump for his rallies and such left unpaid going back to 2016.

We know Democrat-controlled city administrations hate Trump and love to send him bills. How much has BLM been billed for the cost of added first responder presence and billions of dollars worth of property damage the riots its protests encouraged?

Meh. I always figured campaign spending was overrated anyway. You need a certain level to be competitive, sure, but once you reach that figure, it's definitely an issue of diminishing returns. I don't live in Pennsylvania (or any of the other swing states), but I can imagine if I did, I would have stopped paying attention to all of the political ads pretty early in the cycle.

How can the deals be struck before Democrat-run cities like Erie, Pennsylvania have even finished tabulating the costs? And when Trump says he doesn’t think he should be billed for things like police overtime, what evidence do you have that he agreed to pay it?

I don’t know anything other than Democrats have a nasty habit of shading the truth. We know they hate Trump, and that tends to be reflected in their versions of events. Basically, they lie a lot.

So how much was BLM billed for their protests and riots? Where is Kamala’s transparency on how she’s handling rally billing arrangements? My understanding is her campaign refused comment.

I think a system that requires that much outlay of capital to be a value participant is disgusting, of a people that have lost their way, and likely corrupted.

That stated, the numbers are what they are: $20M of a $1B budget is a 2% cost overrun. One might prefer to see a 2% below budget outcome but a 2% over budget is not unusual for any large business project.

When a member of the DNC’s Finance Committee and mega-fundraiser is pissed off to the point of going on Fox and Friends to call it an “end-epic disaster,” it probably is. I know I wouldn’t want to be the one to explain to my wealthy, connected donor friends why the candidate I assured them would win not only lost, but lost after blowing their money plus the rest of $1,018,000,000.

I know progressives hate the Constitution, but donating money to one’s preferred PACs who blast the airwaves with political ads for “their” causes and candidates is a form of constitutionally-protected free speech. Even so, contributions from wealthy, elite Wall Street, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley donors to Kamala-friendly PACs and the DNC didn’t buy her a seat behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Maybe voters aren’t as gullible and easily manipulated by political propaganda as Democrats seem to think they are.

It’s a largely unspoken truth that people and corporations who donate large sums of money to political candidates do it with the hope and expectation of buying access and influence over and above what might be available to an average schmuck. After being assured by the DNC that Kamala would win, many of these donors are now painfully aware that they’ll be shut out of the White House for the next four years. That’s why they’re demonstrably upset and want heads to roll. On the other hand, Elon Musk, whatever his intent, hit the jackpot, because he didn’t start making groveling phone calls to Trump trying to hedge a Kamala bet two weeks before the election when it became increasingly obvious that she was fading at the finish line. He made his bed squarely in the Trump camp months ago. (Apparently, he knows a winner when he sees one. ) He’ll be a close second behind Donald Trump on the Liberal/Progressive Hate Meter. As a privileged, white, former South African who happens to be the wealthiest man on the planet, he already had a left-wing bullseye in his forehead, but he made the mortal sin of supporting Donald Trump. As such he will be the Democrats’ latest and greatest villain, second only to Trump himself. (That automatically makes him a MAGA hero. ) But I honestly don’t think he gives a shit.

Secondly, who said differently. I didn’t say it was unconstitutional. I said at that level where it requires $1B+ for a candidate to be validly participating in our “free” elections is digesting, and it is.

There are quite few “old school conservatives” and RINOs, like Liz Cheney, who preferred voting for a left-wing Democrat who would gut the 1st and 2nd Amendments. I’m not sure how anyone can call themselves a conservative when they voted for a candidate who filed an amicus brief in a landmark Supreme Court case arguing in favor of a handgun ban and against an American's individual right to own a firearm.

They call it the “Left Coast” for a reason. Conservatives don’t get too many casting calls in Hollywood, and openly supporting Trump would be the equivalent of a death sentence. And in that tech Shangri-La known as Silicon Valley, while his name is not as toxic as it used to be, we can still count on one hand the number of people who openly claim to support Trump.


I didn’t vote for him a third time, but whatever Donald Trump and his VP-elect are, they were preferable to Vice President Clueless and Governor Knucklehead. Neither she nor he should have been anywhere near the White House.

You see, that’s where Trump supporters simply dint get it and lose with folks like myself who are old school on ethics.

When it vines down to a push or shive choice between policies or ethics, you swallow hard and choose ETHICS.

The right guy with bad ideas is fetter than the wrong guy with talk of good ideas.

The right guy will do the right thing when the time comes. The unethical one will do the unethical thing when that time comes.

That you don’t know that very basic thing, that pillar of a sound culture thing, is why we are a society in decline.
 

Kamala Harris’ positions on interpretations of enumerated, fundamental constitutional rights, as well as the legal framework she would use to support those positions, vary drastically from my own. If she had won, her imprint on federal judicial appointments and their interpretation of the law would have had significant ethical ramifications for how this country conducts its affairs for decades to come. For example, as I said, I believe in an individual right to own and possess a gun. She obviously does not, because she signed a SCOTUS legal brief saying she doesn’t. I could not in good conscience compromise my views on that and other rights. She took an oath to support the Constitution. Neither could I vote for him. So I gave my vote to the Libertarian.

Killing a fetus is not a fundamental, enumerated constitutional right. Besides, 45% of women voted for Trump. But the rest can cut their hair, withhold nookie, or get a divorce if they want.
