This is unprecedented.

This strike force will work hand in glove with ODNI Gabbard to ferret out information, facts and documents from the IC. Nobody from Justice has ever had that opportunity before...not Horowitz and not Durham.

We can expect the IC to oppose any such efforts, but Gabbard has the lawful power to obtain all of that no matter how much they object. We can also expect the Senate to do what they can do. In fact, they are already working on restricting Gabbard's abilities. They have proposed legislation to alter the power of the ODNI.

This just might turn out to be a down and dirty dog fight.
 
A Strike Force is no trivial matter. They have been used to bring down the mafia kingpins in the past.

This all a diversion in an attempt to stop people talking about Epstein, and it will go nowhere.

As long as the accused still have the right to public trials and discovery and juries, this 'investigation' will go nowhere. Judges tend to frown on lawyers who present false evidence in their courtrooms. That is why competent lawyers are reluctant to do that.
 
Something to look for:

The 'evidence' will be testified to only in the halls of Congress. People who conduct the 'investigation' will never make allegations or accusations outside of Congress.

This is because there is a law that protects anyone who speaks inside the building from libel or slander lawsuits. They can say anything they want, as long as they are inside, but if they make unfounded claims outside, they set themselves up for litigation. Newspapers and other media will quote what is said inside, and that insulates them from liability as well, as long as the make proper attributions.

Senator Joseph McCarthy back in the 50s was notorious for making some outrageous accusatory claims, completely destroying many people's reputations without producing a single shred of evidence, but he ALWAYS made these statements inside, never outside.
