Father appeals order in divorce decree that prevents couple from exposing son to Wicca.

Now that, that's an activist judge.

That's the dumbest thing I've seen all day. THANKS!

This indicates there is more to the story. If the couple was still together, the court probably wouldn't have become involved unless some complaint had been filed. I wonder what the report actually stated as reasons.

No matter what the deal is, the Judge isn't following by his rules as a Judicial leader. He's supposed to be interpreting the law, not writing it. People are stupid, Wicca is not the religion of the "devil" it's the religion of Britain's Druids.. dating back to before the Roman Empire.

Arthur,

What is the point in posting when all write is something of no value, and is always bashing the other parties or beliefs. Please dude, if you don't have anything of importance to say, then don't insult those who don't believe in the ideals of a central religion and actually have tolerance for others.

It seems this judge is certainly overstepping his jurisdiction. It is the right of any parent to worship however they see fit, and encourage their child to do the same. Now, if there was some sort of contest where the child was asking not to participate in these things, that might be cause for this ruling. But that does not at all seem to be the case. Therefore, the ruling should be overturned and the Judge should be reprimanded.

One thing I didn't get was who actually has custody of the child in question. Knowing that would make a HUGE difference, but I didn't see it in the article (perhaps I missed it?)
