The South Carolina Supreme Court has lifted a block that stopped the state from turning over the sensitive data of millions of voters to the federal government.

...Then Crooks sued, Circuit Court Judge Diane Goodstein issued a temporary restraining order that blocked the state from handing over this information, and the governor got involved.
Gov. Henry McMaster requested to intervene in the case and asked the state Supreme Court to overturn the lower court’s order, which it did Thursday, saying Goodstein erroneously issued the restraining order.
The high court also tossed the plaintiff’s request to subpoena the governor.
“The SEC will continue working with the DOJ to develop a formal memorandum of understanding that ensures any data sharing is conducted in full compliance with the law while protecting the privacy of South Carolina voters,” the State Election Commission said in a statement Thursday evening....

A South Carolina circuit court judge has denied a motion to stop the release of state voter data to the Department of Justice, meaning that data is free to be released to the federal agency.
