Microsoft apparently did another unwanted update- I wonder if anyone else is having this issue.

I tried to upload a .jpg photo to downloads and it automatically changed the file name to .jfif. Accoring to the web, these .jfif files should automatically display as .jpg files, but in my case it didn't work.

I had to go into windows registry editor's HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, find the .jfif extension and delete it. It worked, but not the way the guru's said it should work. The experts said to change to name of the extension to .jpg, but when I tried that, I got a notice that it couldn't be changed. So I deleted it after making sure I had a .jpg extension.

I see Geek Squad in my future....😕☹️

I usually open jfif and webp files in paint and then save as jpegs. (in order to post the crap I put on this forum) :)
I also have Photoshop and wondershare stuff but Paint is faster for little stuff..
OK, that was another option to correct this-but from my understanding you couldn't batch all downloads to make them .jpg.
