Journalist arrested on live video during Atlanta protest
A journalist covering ICE activities in Atlanta was arrested during a rally and charged with walking in a roadway and obstructing police officers.
A journalist based in Atlanta was one of eight people arrested during Saturday's 'No Kings' rally in DeKalb County, GA.
Mario Guevara, wearing a helmet and vest identifying him as a member of the press, was detained on a Facebook livestream after walking beside a group of police officers. NBC affiliate 11Alivereports that in the video of his arrest, you can hear Guevara telling officers he was a reporter before the video stopped.
If you watch the video he’s neither obstructing police nor impeding traffic this is ridiculous and an abuse of power because these idiots don’t like being recorded. I know Mario and Im positive they knew who he is.
