So much winning. One of the country’s largest manufacturers is worse off now than it was six months ago. Last month, John Deere said net income in its most recent quarter was down 29 percent from a year earlier. Higher tariffs, primarily on steel but also on aluminum, have cost the company $300 million so far, with nearly another $300 million expected by the end of the year. This summer the company laid off 238 employees across factories in Illinois and Iowa.
John Deere, a U.S. Icon, Is Undermined by Tariffs and Struggling Farmers
The tractor maker said that sales were down and that higher metal tariffs would cost it $600 million, while American farmers face dwindling overseas demand for some crops.www.nytimes.com
I wonder what changed 6 months ago.
If they want to maintain competitiveness in the global market, they have only one choice- move more manufacturing to their offshore facilities to avoid the tariffs. One of the country’s largest manufacturers is worse off now than it was six months ago. "Foreman says there's jobs are goin', boys, 'n they ain't coming backThanks to Maga, Trump and Project 2025, these Americans are losing their jobs.
Sad!
Last time Trump did this, when he tore up NAFTA, Harley-Davidson farmed out manufacturing to their facility in Thailand.Gee it would really suck if an anti-woke good ol boy place like John Deere get ****ed in the ass by Trumpco.
I mean, it won't suck for me, but for all of those trying desperately to pretend what is happening IS NOT HAPPENING!!
Canada has a number of large agricultural equipment manufacturers that already have a mature global export market.Last time Trump did this, when he tore up NAFTA, Harley-Davidson farmed out manufacturing to their facility in Thailand.
75,000 employees Clax doesn't care about.**** John Deere I hope they go bankrupt. Anti consumer swine.
No John Deere doesn't care about that. They hurt themselves.75,000 employees Clax doesn't care about.

Their "bad consumer practices" aren't new. The tariffs on their raw materials are.Their bad consumer practices are more responsible for their situation and I say good.

It doesn't seem like anything special that nobody else has to deal with and aren't struggling to the same degree. It isn't just John Deere. Apple is one of the worst and I own 2 of their products. I used to own a John Deere too, and when it broke down I could fix it or get my neighbor to fix it if I couldn't. That is too much to ask now.Their "bad consumer practices" aren't new. go taco go.Cat's not looking so good either.
Caterpillar lifts 2025 tariff hit estimate to as much as $1.8 billion

WINNING!
Do you really think the average farmer can repair a GPS guided combine? For the last few years John Deere has been undermining farmers by not allowing them to repair their own equipment.
Yes and I used to be able to repair anything under the hood of a car. Now they are just too technologically advanced for my wrench skills. It doesn't seem like anything special that nobody else has to deal with and aren't struggling to the same degree. Only matters if you buy one of those. You don't have to. Thus the decline.Yes and I used to be able to repair anything under the hood of a car. Now they are just too technologically advanced for my wrench skills.
