He needs to pick whomever maximizes his chances of winning. Yes, that relies on more than a bit of foresight.
But we really don't need what I fully expect to happen: if he doesn't pick a non-white person, we'll get endless announcements from Trumpists that "the left" is a big bunch of hypocrites because they don't like racism. Same thing if it's not a woman.
Don't care. Best person to help him win. Preferably someone who can ALSO be competent replacing him if he decides to step down. Trump needs to go. Period. It's that bad.
