Joe Biden is lying about his college football career, in that he claims he had one | The Daily Caller

"I came, I was a football player," Biden said. "I came here in 1963, and I had to go back, I just double checked my memory – you know, you get my age and you’re not so sure of it, you know, your glory days look more glorious than they really were and all that, so we went back on the Internet and I just want you to know, I came here in October 1963, and we beat you Bobcats 29-12."

Not long ago, liberals had a gleeful day with Paul Ryan, who claimed to have run a marathon faster than he actually did. He did run the marathon, but he didn't give the accurate time.

Now here's Joe Biden.

In 2008 and recently, Biden is on record touting his big win as a member of Delaware against Ohio, 29-12, in 1963.

Unlike Ryan, Biden got the numbers right. Delaware did beat Ohio by that score that year.

But also unlike Ryan, Biden wasn't even on the football team as he claimed. He did not play varsity football at Delaware, period.

So which is worse? Running a marathon and exagerrating your time? Or claiming to have played college football, when in fact, you didn't.

Yes, I expect liberals to give Biden a pass, after their "Lyin' Ryan" fun a few weeks ago.

And to both these cats, do you honestly think we can't look this stuff up?

What should one expect from a known plagiarizer?

According to wikipedia, he stopped playing football...because of a girl.

He played halfback with the Blue Hens freshman football team,[14] but he dropped a junior year plan to play for the varsity team as a defensive back, enabling him to spend more time with his out-of-state girlfriend

You'd think silly ole Joe would remember that.

Joe reminds me of the typical person who tells so many lies every day, they can't keep them straight and start to believe them as fact.

so, Joe wasn't in columbus in '63 when his delaware team defeated the buckeyes?

As seen in the debate, Biden is a pathological liar.

He never said he played in the game. Fact Check: Misleading, but true.

heck if I were referencing a past win of the team I am loyal to (the Wolverines) over OSU I would state "I came to the horseshoe in 1986, and we beat the buckeyes by a score of 28 to 24". I have never been on the roster for UM at all, and I was sitting in the stands, but it is not uncommon to reference a team you are loyal to as "we".

Poorly worded? sure I mean look at all the "you know's" and other dead air filling clauses he put in there which shows he was likely struggling to get his thoughts to words. factually incorrect not so much if you take the usage of the term "we" in describing "your team" at face value how it is commonly used by people colloquially. I do not necessarily see this as saying he was actually on the team.. now due to the wording and his first statement "I was a football player" some may think that it was implied that he was on the team, but that is in no way definitive by his statements.

misleading? maybe I will grant that, but I do not think it was done intentionally. I think this is more him fumbling over words and being his typical in-eloquent self.

This is huge.

Yes he did. He said he was on the team. He wasn't on the team.

how about an actual quote/cite, showing this to be a fact

You need to tell everyone who will listen about this. This is a game changer.

Can't be...as I haven't seen it reported on by Fox News or MSNBC...:lamo

No, he didn't. He said he played football there. And he did -- a short stint in his Freshman year. Fact Check: Biden's too tall football tale? - First Read

If you say he said he was on the team that played that game, please pull that quote and post it. Otherwise, you've read it incorrectly.

C'mon, Maggie. Look at the quote in my OP. He said he was a "football player" who "came (to Ohio) in 1963" and "beat you Bobcats, 29-12."

What kind of verbal gymnastics are you trying to do for him? He does this stuff all the time. You know darn well what he meant when he said it. He got busted.

That he voted against spending any money on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Example No. 359.

The whole point of this is, liberals went ape**** when Ryan exagerrated his marathon time. It called his whole character into question. But Uncle Joe can lie about playing in a game when he wasn't even on the team, and it's just funny fodder from the past.

Neither is a big deal, but the reaction is highly hypocritical.

Now the plagiarism stuff on Biden.....that IS telling.

Perhaps I misunderstood you on the last post. Do you really think this is a game changer?

Swear to GOD!!!! I think the whole site's been infected with a virus this morning. Between you and Bubba, I think I'll get a shot. (Or maybe take one.)

See...now this is an honest response. Its just another politician lying...and it TRULY isnt all that big a deal, especially coming from a known liar.
