It appears she got emotional and she won, so much for one-off examples I suppose. I don't much care for crying on a public platform, wonder what she thought about the flag 2 years ago so not sure how onboard i am with her emotional speech... but at the end of the day the BS amendment posters ceased and the flag came down.
This all seems to be stemming from people trying to assuage some guilt or something. If people in this country are stupid enough to believe that Dylann Roof did what he did because of the Confederate flag, then we're in really big trouble. Huge trouble.
Jenny's tears were moving, but meaningless. People are pretending that removing that flag will mean something. It won't. And unless we're going to remove every symbol that may offend anyone in this country, this is all for show. And some sort of guilt. All I know is I never met anyone in my life who owned a slave in this country. And that's in spite of the Confederate flag flying in SC.
Bingo. Before the media and Angry Facebook People needed something to scream about after the Church survivors proved insufficiently willing to call for riots, nobody cared. If I as this woman, I'd be embarrassed. She just reinforced all the stereotypes about her gender.
Or this one.....
No one ever made the claim that "the flag made him do it"
I'd opine MILLIONS cared, but the politicians in South Carolina- to include the Governor, refused to serve the greater good but rather the greater donator/voter base- like I said the Governor was all for 'heritage' when running for office.
As far as the stereotype and emotion... I'd say that comment says more about the author than the speaker
like the business quote about the genders- An assertive man is a strong leader, a strong assertive woman is a bitch...eace
Well then, you explain how it is that until that stupid facebook photo came out of this mentally imbalanced young man holding a Confederate flag...Before that the conversation was centered on this young man's own racism, his mental illness, etc.
Then after that photo, the progressive grievence mob took over with all the venom, and emotional appeal they could muster, and by using the old "when did you stop beating your wife...?" approach toward politicians who they thought wouldn't go along, they succeeded in subverting the will of the people by proxy of threat of labeling....It is not American how this was done.
Lol. Get over it.
Most Americans, north and south, disapprove of flying the Confederate flag

Your own poll shows almost exactly what mine does....That your choice is to focus on a totally different part of the polling, and therefore miss the point completely is not my problem, rather it is yours.
You don't see angry mobs of Americans protesting in the streets over the removal of a symbol that was out in front of the march to preserve the institution of human trafficking and slavery. You'll just have to get use to the fact that you won't be able to drive by the SC capitol and feel the pride of the South welling up inside of you anymore.

This should have been done a long time ago. This kids association with the flag and what he promoted is as representing just provoked the conversion. The flag becoming a focus is a by product of this incident
No, it's a byproduct of liberals finding something to latch onto to continue their fight against the confederate flag. It has nothing to do with the kid, racism, slavery, or the meaning behind the flag, but with liberals hatred towards a flag.
You are able to make that statement Henrin (that something is being made out of nothing) only because you don't have a personal connection to what this flag represents and are clearly lacking the insight one gains from having even the slightest shred of empathy towards others.
Is that all you have Montecresto? Ad hom, and appeal to emotion? Both sides of the argument were represented during this whole thing. I guess you only see what you wish to see.
Yeah I know, I'm an uncaring jerk.
It is however true that liberals have been attacking the flag with the same kind of rhetoric that we saw after the shooting for decades. In reality nothing changed about the debate at all except that nine people were killed by some crazy dude that was racist and liked the flag. It was just more of the nonsense tactic always used by the left that when something horrible happens it's best to use it to get one of your political goals accomplished.
Lol. Except for one thing, the SC legislator is republican (RIGHT) top heavy 28/18 and the vote to remove the flag was 36/3. Nice attempt at blaming the left.

Nah, it was a "co-opt" of the situation....But, we won't agree on that....
hey he also wore the flag of, I think it was Rhodesia on his jacket....Should we ban their flag too?
I don't know does the Rhodesian flag represent anything nearly as appalling to the majority of Americans?
Yeah, they even played into the whole narrative that it was about the shooting. If the shooting never happened liberals would still be opposed to it and the fight against the flag would still be going on. All that happened is that the left started the bull**** wheel rolling and republicans got caught up into it.
Those poor little spineless republicans. :lamo
Yep, they were spineless....We shall see if the SC public is equally spineless come next election....
