What do you think about Jeb Bush as President?

He's a Bush and I won't vote for another Bush, nor would I vote for another Clinton. Its tragic that we might be looking at another Clinton-Bush rematch.

I loved both dynasties.

Bill brought us artificially inflated housing prices and a robust dot com bubble. I can still remember the good old days of 1992 - 2000.

GHW was viewed as a more sober alternative to Reagan back in the 1980 campaign, and GHW also correctly characterized the voodoo economics of Reaganomics back then as well.

GW was a fine lad and aside from his frat boy stunts of landing on aircraft carriers with his own fighter jet, he stood tall and defiant when Bin Laden torched the twin towers and the Pentagon.

I am not wild about Hillary's gun control views though.

Jeb has a solid record on gun rights.

Not sure how Jeb would defend ACA, Medicare, or Social Security though. Maybe nobody in the GOP is trustworthy on these programs.

Back in the days of GWH no one would have dared undo Medicare or Social Security. But under GW talk began of so doing.

It's hard to say who would be the best POTUS because it is hard to foresee what the Nation will need in the coming 4 to 8 years.

One thing is clear though. The Nation surely does not need a clown -- The Donald and his clown act so far is not it.

Jeb Bush is a poster-child of Social Security's dysfunction. He is a wealthy politician who is unacquainted with his own retirement age, the impact of his proposals, or the reasoning for it. He is supposed to be a serious contender for the presidential election in 2016, and he treats the issue of Social Security as though it were a campaign stop at a working-class burg in the political outback of America.

The man simply doesn't understand the depth of the problem : Voters oblivious to Jeb's flawed Social Security vision - Orlando Sentinel

I agree, that is a problem, as it was with GW his brother as well.

It is a problem with all politicians. It is the largest expense in the budget, and there is no sign that any of the people have spent 5 minutes thinking about it.

It is too bad that we elect idiots to go to Washington.

Don't worry -- I know -- the idiots from California are the worst.

Ditto!

DETAILS: Clinton mega-donors funding Jeb...

For some wealthy donors, it doesn’t matter who takes the White House in 2016—as long as the president’s name is Clinton or Bush.

More than 60 ultra-rich Americans have contributed to both Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton’s federal campaigns, according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission data by Vocativ and The Daily Beast. Seventeen of those contributors have gone one step further and opened their wallets to fund both Bush and Clinton’s 2016 ambitions.

Another day, another blunder for Bush.

While Trump hides, "not" preparing for the debate .

Actually, in a most irresponsible way, the USA really doesn't elect the idiots to go to Washington.
63.4% of Americans stayed home in 2014--I'm sure those who fought and died for this right to vote would appreciate that .

The Nation could do far worse with the other 20 total announced candidates out there .

The kind of people we "elect to go to Washington"...reflect the general population more than most of us want to acknowledge.

Humans are selfish...and see to their own needs first and foremost. This applies to the Albert Schweitzers and Mother Teresa's of the world as well as to the Charles Manson's.

The problem is not that we send idiots to Washington...

...the problem is that we choose our politicians from among the human population...and we are not willing to see that humans ARE what politicians show we ARE.

Hard for me to know what those who died would want. However, it would probably be similar to those who are career military. My impression is the turnout is higher among veterans, but don't think its likely to be any higher if as high as groups like teachers, federal and state employees.

Would you vote for Jeb Bush?

nah. we've had enough trickle downer hawks. at least he's not bat**** crazy on immigration like most of the rest of his party, though. i'll give him credit for that. his brother was ok on immigration, too, but was an awful president. everybody on both sides knows that's the perception, even if they won't admit it. his surname may help him get the nomination, but it will be nothing but baggage in the general.

Were you referring to the reasoning behind social security or the reasoning behind his proposals?

Both.

He made a statement about Social Security that is not terrible far off from predicting manned-flights to the moon. I have no idea why he said something so stupid, other than his campaign team knows that no one will take the time to validate his statement.

We do not elect idiots. These people are bright enough to realize that we will believe anything that they tell us. What I have found is that we elect the person with the lowest respect for our intelligence.

Is there a realistic chance for Jeb Bush?

Trump said as much last night, when call said everyone in Washington is stupid.

Actually, the housing bubble was ten years later and peaked in 2007 and Obama got bin Laden after Bush said that he doesn't think of him much.

Bill Clinton presided over the most increase in jobs and beat Reagan's economic gains in every measure.

Mr. Bush is far from my ideal candidate, but if it comes down to a choice between him and any current plausible Democratic candidate, I'll have to support Mr. Bush.

Clinton did that, a combo of sheer luck because of the Internet boom, but also because he stimulated the realty bubble as well.

The realty bubble took a long time to pop, but eventually it did.

So why did the GOP predict an economic disaster if Clinton got his tax increases, which he did? However, I do like the heads I win, tails you lose argument that whenever a democrat has a great economy it's an accident but not so for republicans.
