The only reason (lie) I bring this up is because I have to throw in a self brag I played at an AJGA event that Jaxon won back in the day. Now that I got that out of the way....

Jaxon was one of the top junior golfers in the late 80's. Nobody can take that away from him. He was amongst the best in the Phil/Tiger era of junior golf.

Just when he was about to make the PGA tour in his 20's, some dummy he played with in his qualifier wrote the wrong score down. Jaxon signed the wrong score card and bam he missed a playoff to get to the PGA tour by a shot.

In the meantime he played on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour and I'm sure most will argue if he was good enough he would have made it. I dunno. For me, it is all about opportunity. I dont know much about Jaxon's life since his failed attempt at the PGA tour, but he ended up working at a HVAC company. That just blows my mind a guy with that much talent ends up like that. So was it destiny or did he lol deserve it? There are so many on the list of late 80's AJGA top players that never made it. Why is that?

It's just sad to me. There are a lot of wanna be pro's never make it. But the way this guy didnt make it makes one think about a lot more philosophically. RIP Jaxon.

It is the players responsibility to check his own score before signing the card, and I'm quite sure his partner that day was devastated by the mistake. If he was as good as you think he was, then he would have played his way off of the Korn Ferry tour which gives the top 25 players their PGA Tour card every season.

As sexy as the tour golf lifestyle seems to some, the PGA & KF tours really are meat grinders........ both mentally and physically speaking.

Who knows, Jaxon might have been quite happy with his feet in the KF tour and still having his day job to fall back on when he wasn't playing well.

Way to show absolutely zero empathy.

Zero empathy? Where did I shit on Jaxon? You're the only one that shit on anyone by calling out the poor guy (calling him a dummy) that put down a wrong number on a scorecard that Jaxon was responsible for checking.

Jaxon is just one of hundreds of thousands of talented golfers who couldn't make the big show so why are you making a big deal out of it?

Besides, I think Jaxon had a pretty darn good life playing golf for money and teaching golf......so good for him.

Not showing any empathy doesnt require one to "shit on" anything. You really are incapable of expressing empathy, are you? Just pull yourself up by the bootstraps and take personal responsibility and get on with it.

The entire context next time:

Who knows, Jaxon might have been quite happy with his feet in the KF tour and still having his day job to fall back on when he wasn't playing well.

Sounds pretty supportive to me, so please stop the emotional nonsense.

Yes I'm sure he was perfectly fine playing on the KF Tour and ending up as a sales rep for a HVAC company when he was literally that one mistake away from securing a PGA Tour card for an entire year. You just can't bring yourself to empathize with another human, can you?

You are being quite emotional.

What gives?

How am I being emotional? By pointing out you lack empathy? That isnt being emotional that is making an astute observation.

As a golfer you obviously know that it's your responsibility to check your scorecard before signing it, but you called the other player a dummy which lacks empathy on your part.

Hypocrite much Dude?

Right the guy was a dummy but I also feel bad for him as well because I'm sure right now this is dredging up bad memories for him since his name is being plastered all over the news.

It's really pointless for me to point out that you lack empathy because you're never going to change. I know people like you. I used to be like you in fact. I feel sorry for you.

OMG....

I expressed that the guy had a great life and you go all to pieces.
