The only reason (lie) I bring this up is because I have to throw in a self brag I played at an AJGA event that Jaxon won back in the day. Now that I got that out of the way....
Jaxon was one of the top junior golfers in the late 80's. Nobody can take that away from him. He was amongst the best in the Phil/Tiger era of junior golf.
Just when he was about to make the PGA tour in his 20's, some dummy he played with in his qualifier wrote the wrong score down. Jaxon signed the wrong score card and bam he missed a playoff to get to the PGA tour by a shot.
In the meantime he played on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour and I'm sure most will argue if he was good enough he would have made it. I dunno. For me, it is all about opportunity. I dont know much about Jaxon's life since his failed attempt at the PGA tour, but he ended up working at a HVAC company. That just blows my mind a guy with that much talent ends up like that. So was it destiny or did he lol deserve it? There are so many on the list of late 80's AJGA top players that never made it. Why is that?
It's just sad to me. There are a lot of wanna be pro's never make it. But the way this guy didnt make it makes one think about a lot more philosophically. RIP Jaxon.
