It took a little over 20 years in Hong Kong. How long will it take here?

Hong Kong is now pretty much just another CCP territory. The Sino-British Joint Declaration isn't worth the paper it was written on. Once again the purveyors of Social Globalism have been proved to be dreamers at best and carnival hawkers by any sane assessment.

Hong Kong: Hundreds arrested as proposed security law worsens tensions

Once this bill passes it's over for Hong Kong. The CCP authorities will have a legal right to jail protesters and the world at large will shrug and say "we tried".

Cest la vie.

How long will what take here?

Is China going to annex us too?

Releasing covid-19 as the next biological attack by China against the world certainly has worked in quelling protests in Hong Kong.

The USA has already surrendered to China and China now is the most powerful nation on earth - with progressive Democrats among their strongest supporters in that goal.

Hong Kong is just the latest pigeon coming home to roost. The “colony” was ceded to Britain in 1842. Hard to defend an outpost that far away from home. This would be like the US having ceded the Keys to a superior power, at some point we would take them back, if able.......

The will to support individual liberty is dead. There are a few holdouts but, on the whole, it's a thing of the past. The people have generally decided that it's too much effort to seek their own way in the world and have chosen, instead, to blindly follow whoever dangles the shiny keys in front of their face.

Is China going to annex us too?

The UN will continue to cede power to China and the US, under the coming Democrat landslide in November, will support that plan.

The "USA" spends more on it's military than the next 10 nations spend COMBINED, China is but one of those 10. OUR dollar IS the exchange currency of the world and our economy, even now IS the most robust economy on earth. China couldn't smell where the USA **** last. <--period

BUT!!! IF you're worried about the USA becoming a totalitarian dictatorship, you should be! Because the pResdient me-me-me misadministration is working FULL time with the help of INTERNATIONAL Oligarchs (including Putin) to become an AUTOCRACY.

We should give it a shot!

-Donald Trump me-me-me on Xi becoming a lifetime dictator

Hong Kong is gone. Trump recognizes we would not go to war against China over Hong Kong. Besides, if we raise complaint too much, they'll just launch another biological attack against us as they do every other year. The USA and the world have made it clear China can engage in biological warfare against the world as much as and anytime they want to.

All that matters is they keep accepting American debt dollars in exchange for an endless flow of cargo container ships from China out of the children slave labor sweatshops of the International super rich. Nothing, not even life itself, more matters to most Americans than hording foreign non-white-people-made sweatshop product mostly from the sweatshops of the wealthiest people on earth.

Anyone dying of covid-19 should have all their Chinese slave labor sweatshop stuff gathered all around them on display shelves, with a sign reading "Yes, all this Chinese sweatshop crap is worth dying of a Chinese disease for."

I am confident that nearly every progressive Democrat still would furiously claim we can trust deals made with China.

I don’t agree with the first sentence. The old axiom, “divide and conquer,” applies to our situation. Geography is responsible for the absorption of Hong Kong.

Which doesn’t change the fact that China has thoroughly violated the agreement it made with the people of Hong Kong...which is why they are so furious.

It also shows what PRC promises are worth...and has effectively destroyed the chances of Taiwan willingly coming “back“ to China

Trump's sanctions against Russia and opening up American oil and gas - shattering Russia's economy - really really pisses you and most other progressives off, doesn't it?

Do you openly sob tears while praying for your man-gods on TV to save Russia from the evil President Trump via their propaganda power?

I don’t think that Taiwan would ever “willingly” come back to China. The geography is a bit more difficult with Formosa, there are no bridges, yet. I don’t know that the US has the moral authority as far as “promises/treaties kept.”

What kind of creative writing project is this? Seriously. WTF are you talking about?

WoW! You are really desperate. I thought we were talking about China, I guess the adage is true; "when you don't have an argument … change the subject … and throw in an attack if possible".

The British should have kept control of it, I am SURE we wouldnt have this

Nobody needs to be shown that the CCP sucks. We already know that. The US government has sucked too. If you want to compare and contrast Hong Kong with the many treaties the US has broken with just the native tribes, then that's a discussion. Otherwise, how is this relevant to modern American politics?

One could argue that it only took 20 years to give the POTUS unilateral authority and turn this country into a dictatorship.

It was over for Hong Kong the moment Britain sold them out. Once the Chinese Army landed there was nothing anyone on the outside could do for them.

The US has brought in organized crime members to beat up Native American protesters? When? And that’s just one example of the crap China has pulled in Hong Kong in recent years.

Whataboutism from over a hundred years ago excuses none of what China does today.

Right now all our enemies, Iran, China, NK etc are all wanting to see Biden win in November. The leadership at the UN, the WHO, WTO all want to see Trump defeated. Trump is the first president that has stood up to China calling out their cheating, intellectual theft and encouraging businesses to return back to the states slashing regulations (which are hidden taxes) to make it feasible for them.

As I was anticipating the launch today, under Trump, NASA has had a long awaited facelift. Today it was disappointing that the launch was cancelled but will go forth and it will be the first time in many years our astronauts will get to the space station in an American made rocket. During a few years of the Bush administration and all of Obama's administration, NASA really became a ghost town and if you have been there during those years, you know what I mean. It was sad to see. Our astronauts had to hitch a ride with Russians at the cost of 80 million per passenger to the Space Station. Trump is all about U.S. made, U.S. first and that ruffles a lot of feathers.

As far as Hong Kong goes, if Biden wins Hong Kong will be screwed so will Taiwan. Joe Biden's record on China proves how soft he has been on China and throughout the remainder of this campaign you will see it highlighted.
That's a give me.

China is a Trump con. His tariff trade war did nothing but hurt American farmers hit by reciprocal Chinese tariffs. Trump not only fools you into thinking he's being tough on China, he picks your pocket to pay the affected farmers.

Today's launch is not NASA.

You do not know what you are talking about. Ignorance is not bliss. This launch that will go forth hopefully Saturday, is a partnership with Elon Musk and NASA. SpaceEX and NASA. The astronauts are NASA astronauts. The mission could not be possible without NASA.

The mission could not be possible without Elon Musk. It's a private venture. Private airline for space. NASA's expertise is expected and incidental. NASA will probably be one of Musk's best customers.
