Bombing an operating nuclear reactor has a significant chance of causing a Chernobyl-scale event.

The world was warned that this would have to happen if they allowed Iran to start up the reactor. I guess maybe they should have listened to the warnings.

I confess that I do not know if Arak is currently operating, but I assume that it is.

You don't have to blow up the core to disable it. Just damaging its cooling system may trigger internal fail-safe mechanisms to get it safely shut down.

Bombing the cooling system of an operating reactor = Chernobyl, IMO.

We'll know how bad it is soon enough. Israel just bombed it.
