Intelligence Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz warned Thursday that Israel could act unilaterally against Iran over its nuclear drive, saying Tehran has failed to make concessions in talks with world powers. "I won't be too specific but all options are still on the table," Steinitz told reporters. We never limited Israel's right of self-defence because of some diplomatic constraints," he said.
"The Iranians didn’t move much... therefore we are so disturbed," he said. Steinitz said the agreement being thrashed out was "full of loopholes". "If there is no agreement there is not agreement, but since we hear some optimism on both sides it seems to us that if there is an agreement by the end of March this means an agreement without Iran moving to significant progress."
"If this is the picture, how much can it change in one month?"....snip~

Looks like Israel will double down with what they have said about Iran. What say ye?

Hello MMC:
Sadly this is surely bluster only. Lets remember that Iran is not only far away, but is far larger than Israel. No one in the world especially the US will come to their aid in this action.
Only when Iran is on the threshold of a bomb will Israel act. Then it will be life or death, and they will no go down like the European Jews in the 20th century.
On what do you base that assessment? And Israel gave up expecting the US to come to its aid when Obama got elected. He, you may recall, is all about moving Israel back to it's 1967 borders again so it can't defend itself.
Israel could probably get in a first strike that would cause damage, not sure they could send enough planes to knock out all of the sites. Then they would have to prepare for a counter attack from Iran, Hezbollah and possibly Hamas. Iran is a nation of nearly 80 million. It is a nation that kicked the US out of Iraq (with the help of Obama) taken over Yemen through a proxy, controls Lebanon and Syria.
This isn't what I hope for, just trying to be realistic.

I wonder, if they still have the option. The US can still take out Iran's nuclear capacity and probably Russia, France or UK could with impunity. China, Pakistan or India would probably not succeed easily. And Israel? They could have a while ago. But now?
Its like Steinitz says Jog. :2wave: The deal now is full of major loopholes and the Iranians haven't changed course on anything. Still using the clock so to speak.
Obama was their ideal counterpart.
Mornin WN. :2wave: Lets not forget the Saud have addressed the issue aiding Israel and letting them use their Air-Space. Which with the way things are now. The May go along for the ride.
What say ye?
I say that the sooner we're rid of Israel the better, so by all means I hope they go ahead and do something stupid.
They may let them use their airspace but will not get involved. Israel cannot defeat the combo of Iran Hezbollah and Hamas in the ensuing battle. It would be overwhelmed with missiles.

It's not really news is it?
Israel always states that the military option remains on the table, and it will remain so until it can be assured that the Iranians are unable to create a bomb.
The US is stating pretty much the same.
Bibi has an election to fight in a week or two, what else to expect but sabre-rattling?
Why not try destroying Israel yourself eh?
Buy a Kalachnikov, get to one of Israel's borders and start trying to destroy it.
You're more than welcomed to give it your best try.
Well coming from someone other than Netanyahu and with the timing. I think it re-inforces the fact where Israel stands. Despite some wanting to delay so BO can go for what he thinks is a deal.
Wait...are you inviting me to become a terrorist?
Because that's just stupid.
To be honest with you, I want nothing to do with the Middle East.
Israel wants to kill Arabs and Persians?
Fine, Have at it.
Arabs and Persians want to kill Israelis?
That's fine with me too.
I just don't want the U.S. to have anything to do with it.
Five weeks actually.
I wouldn't go as far as calling Steinitz "someone other than Netanyahu", he's a member of the Likud and he's pretty much Netanyahu's pet, I would be shocked if he had an opinion of his own over pretty much anything.
And as Skipper pointed out the timing is clearly more elections related than anything else.
