ISIS Demands $6.6M Ransom for 26-Year-Old American Woman.....

Berghdhal was a prisoner of war exchange...which the US has done since the Revolutionary War.

A deserter POW for 5 high-level/dangerous terrorists.

Obama's a piss-poor trader.

The young ladies mother and father would likely have a different opinion.

Fine. Then they can pay the ransom.
I hate to sound cold, but....maybe they should've insisted their daughter not go over there in the first place because **** like this has happened in the past.

These sick freaks don't care if all you're doing is handing out meals and blankets. If they think they can get money off of threatening your life, they'll take ya. Some people are just too damn stupid to realize that wearing a "Red Cross" or "Press" badge DOES NOT protect you anymore. Not with these psychopaths!

I think there is way more to it than that.....which the US not being there. Doesn't mean any of that violence and or sectarian divide would all go away. Then there is the issue with Israel and Other Allies. It would be even more violent. Also Russia has been there for the last 20 years too.

I did not say that they would fear anything - they are religious extremists. I'm not referring to how much they should or should not fear. I am referring to how America would react, and how the religious extremists have no clue about how we would react...just as I'm fairly sure that OBL had no idea of the lengths we would go to, to get him.

And this my fellow Americans is why we DON'T give into ransoms.

Let's take it a step further, shall we? How about, "This is why it's absolutely ****ing retarded to invade a country on fabricated reasons,"? Yeah, much better. The Bush Administration were warned that their actions would cause more hate in the Middle East. And this is ever before it came out that Americans were torturing people. What a big cesspool of mess.

They hated us before, and they hated us after. You dont appease evil.

So......When are we going to stop blaming Bush? Also I don't recall Bush flying into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon....

So......When are we going to stop blaming Bush? Also I don't recall Bush flying into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon....

Because it was the actions of that administration that has caused a lot of the problems we see today. They were warned but didn't listen. So **** yeah, I certainly have the right to point the finger.

And, hypothetically, say about 20 Americans succeeded in hijacking a plane (or two) and flying them into a couple of those incredible buildings in Dubai. Does that make the United States of American open for justified invasion? Of course not, so your point is ridiculous.

So how did Bush cause the French to file Resolutions in the UN for Enforceable Action in Syria again.....then lessening Sanctions on Iran. Then file resolutions with over 6 different African Nations. Including Libya wherein they tricked BO and his team into jumping to take out Gadhafi for them and the Sauds?

Where did you say Bush comes in with telling the French what to do?

Yeah, but then think about how many opportunities to go to war we'd pass up! I don't think the defense contractors would get behind that one Jamesrage. And they've a pretty large lobby.

Many elected officials both on the right and left seem to have their lips firmly wrapped around M.I.C.'s(military industrial complex) ****. Kind of males me wonder if this militarization of the police is just another way of lining the pockets of MIC. Yeah the police are getting used equipment. But when another war pops up the military will need new equipment because it sold or given away all their old equipment.

huh?

huh?

Yeah exactly.....you can roll your eyes when you can come up with answer for the Actions of the French and the ME as well as Africa.

You stated that Bush was warned that his actions would cause this? Which is where I jumped in and asked you. How did Bush tell the French what to do?

How did Bush bring out all of this extra curricular activities in Yemen? Bahrain? Or with the French?

How is that Terrorism has grown under BO peep by 58%......attacks up from 390 something to over a 1000? All from 2010 til now? How did Bush cause all that to take place?

Because it was the actions of that administration that has caused a lot of the problems we see today. They were warned but didn't listen. So **** yeah, I certainly have the right to point the finger.

This is a simplistic view of all the problems that we face today. And partisan. The problems that we are facing today is the result of several POTUS's, not just one.

1: That isn't why we invaded Iraq.

2: You tried to blame the fact that there were terrorists that were basically fighting the US due to the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. If that were true then we wouldn't have had 9/11 happen until after those wars started.

I certainly wish the U.S. response to violent groups like this wasn't so hypocritical, but alas, U.S. foreign policy operates not on morality but on potential benefit gained in serving whatever the agenda may be at a given time. We just like to play on the moral issue so that it seams really simple to the common folk.

To answer your somewhat humorous question with a somewhat humorous answer, I think the U.S. feels a little sting since right as most of the troops leave, the place goes to ****. That, at least, is a possible contributing factor.

US foreign policy is more and more shaped by whatever may be gained at THAT time domestically. The older I get and the more wars I see, they all and up without meaning or reason, from Vietnam to Afghanistan.

The place goes to **** because they up and left when they got bored, not because they had brought any stability to the region. Outside olf that great assault on Grenada when has a US invasion ever brought stability...?

Preaching to the choir here, my good sir.

You have this incessant need to BE partisan in everything you do.

I have supported every decision Obama has made when he did them, even if I didnt necessarily agree with him. Once the CiC involves troops or the military in any capacity, he has my support. Ive been that guy over there. I have kids that are those guys today. I supported Obamas decision to use air attacks against ISIS. I support his decision to use drone strikes against terrorists and even expand their ops.

I said here that I understand the tough spot he was in and I support the presidents Bergdahl decision. I still think Bergdahl should be investigated but I support Obamas decision.

So...do us both a favor and take your constant whining partisan bull**** elsewhere or point to where I have been critical of an actual decision Obama has made to engage our enemies.

They've gotten so used to saying everything is Bush's fault, even after years of Obama, that they just can't help themselves? What I do remember is Obama arguing with the G8 in 2009/2010 that they should be spending more money - not less. I remember the other countries politely disagreeing but saying they would do as they saw fit, and he should do the same. So trillions have now been added to our debt, bringing it to over $17 trillion. What did all that spending gain us - there are now nearly 48 million people on food stamps, and heaven knows how many on other government assistance programs; a lack of well-paying jobs; an unemployment number that is still higher than any Bush ever had; crumbling infrastructure; and a public that is angry. No other country in history has owed so much money to so many people as we currently do. So who was correct - Obama or the other G8 countries that decided that a little cutting back on spending was necessary, and followed through?

Yes, even after years of Obama the economic collapse and the Iraq war were still caused by Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush. That's how it will go down in history.

Yep, and its not just the money. Then we have cops coming out to looters and rioters that our nation has handled just fine in the past without all the military gear, with the far more militant type authority seen on the battlefield, and used against foreigners, now being used on the streets of America against US citizens, with the blessing of fruit cakes not just on this board. Our liberties are at far more risk right here domestically by a growing, in every aspect imaginable government, and those that would support it. You might notice that the very same people who think this is just fine also have issues with people who expose government secrets of other ways our liberties are being challenged and violated. It's not difficult to discern who the enemies of liberty are.

Well yes you can make that argument. But it's not as though she picked a country in the midst of a civil war (well actually president Assad is fighting a US backed war on terror) to holiday in. But point taken.

Ok, you have that same response every time, and then I come back with the clarification that I know that the bickering in the ME predates US existence. But that being the powerful country that America is, we who alone have such capabilities, have gone into this region that ****ing needs hard asses like Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad in the positions they are/were in to keep the fringe psychopaths at bay. And have removed them!!! Which is directly responsible for the elbow room, the room for these freaks to blossom. It's absolute insanity. Dude, you don't support Obama's policies, your halfway there. THE US CANNOT, IS IMPOTENT TO, BRING DEMOCRACY TO THE ME. So you needn't tell me anymore that the Middle East was fighting before we came along, I know that, OBL knew that, that dude that threw his shoes at Bush, knew that, Ron Paul knows that, Noam Chomsky knows that. We all also know that US policy has fanned the flames, thrown fuel to the fire.
