The conservative base portrays Obama as an "Anti-Christ" figure practically. Why is this? I personally don't find Obama to be half as bad as he is portrayed to be.

Jon Stewart made a similar observation, he noted that as Americans get to know the GOP candidates better through the glut of televised debates, more and more are thinking Obama's not that bad!
It's because he is black.
It's because he is black.
It's because he is black.
I was honestly losing faith in our president until I started watching the Republicans on stage... I quickly found a way to believe in Obama again.
For some, but Clinton faced the same kind of opposition from the far right.
It's because he is black.
Sadly I could believe that.
Clinton was the the honorary first black president.
It's because he is black.
The Right hates him because the Left loves him. And, as far as I can tell... the only reason that the Left loves him anymore is that the Right hates him.
Both reactions are utterly irrational. He's an incompetent President following on the heels of another incompetent President, who inherited a nation in a disastrous state and endeavored with all due diligence to make it worse. There's a limit to how many more years of this bull**** our nation can survive-- pessimistic estimates are less than another full term-- so people are rightfully doing everything possible to get him out of office.
Only problem is, I'm not seeing any indication that they're trying to replace him with anything better.
I would say MB (congrats if you know what MB means) is slightly better than him, after all, he ramped up South Korea's economy immensely, while ****ing up human rights and social policies
People can argue all day whether economic security or human rights are more important, but at the end of the day, if you're making significant improvements in one at the expense of the other, you're still making some kind of progress.
What do you call a leader that sacrifices both?
"Bush did it first" and "Obama is black, therefore you're a racist" are apparently the only talking points Obama needs to repel attacks from the right. Pathetic.
Right now, Obama.People can argue all day whether economic security or human rights are more important, but at the end of the day, if you're making significant improvements in one at the expense of the other, you're still making some kind of progress.

Obama has done a good job restoring respect for the United States abroad, done more to defeat Al Qaeda than in the years previous, and held corrupt financial institutions responsible for the damage they've done. Obama has done just fine.
Yes.Is Obama THAT bad?
Obama is pretty bad, but certainly not the worst among Democrats or Republicans. What I really dislike about Obama, isThe conservative base portrays Obama as an "Anti-Christ" figure practically. Why is this? I personally don't find Obama to be half as bad as he is portrayed to be.
Bold: Talking point. We still had plenty of respect abroad. The people that didn't respect us then are the same ones that don't respect us now. And kowtowing to other countries is disrespectful to Americans.
Name any politician, and you can find someone who portrays them as the anti-Christ. Obviously some people feel that way about Obama, but to say that the conservative base portrays him that way is absurd. The conservative base isn't half as bad as you portray them to be.The conservative base portrays Obama as an "Anti-Christ" figure practically. Why is this? I don't want to comment on Obama in general, but let me say as a person abroad, Obama did restore my respect for America after the Bush years. And many people I know over here feel the same.
That doesn't mean I think everything Obama did and does is good. Actually, I think of him as a lesser evil, not more. And I am deeply disturbed that so many Americans feel diplomatic behavior, which should be a no-brainer, equals "kowtowing" and anything short of breaking chairs over the heads of foreign people is "appeasement". I don't think Obama is "kowtowing", he's just doing what's a matter of course for every leader except certain American politicians.
But you're right that Obama didn't reach the extreme far-left fringe in Europe who hates America anyway. They did so before and continue to do so. But don't think the criticism of Bush was limited to these usual suspects.
