MY wife, who is on Medicare, just got her bill for a doctors visit to a specialist. The bill showed that Medicare is paying less for the visit than in the past and our insurance is having to pick up what Medicare no longer pays for. Has anyone out there on Medicare seen anything like this?

At my day job, we are having people come in to complain about this very thing. But MEDICARE is an SSA thing which we don't manage, so it does appear weird billing things are happening. But I have not heard anything official.
The ones I have encountered over the last two weeks or so are tied to the MEDICARE Savings program Tier 1 (QMB).

I just went to the doctor Tuesday for my semi-annual BP/exam evaluation, and they hit me with a $150.00 co-pay when I walked in the door. First off, that's never happened. Normally they wait until Medicare pays their share and they bill me for the difference.

I'll have to wait now to get my statement from Medicare, and then I'll follow up.
