Former FBI Director James Comey could face perjury charges due to alleged false statements made to Congress during a 2020 testimony, according to reports from multiple media outlets. Federal prosecutors are still deciding whether to bring those charges forward as the legal deadline looms, CNN reported, citing people familiar with the situation. Although prosecutors haven't found sufficient evidence to charge Comey, the US Attorney in Virginia plans to ask a grand jury to indict him, according to a report from ABC News. The possible charges stem from alleged false statements Comey made on September 30, 2020, while giving testimony on possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to CNN.

‘We can’t delay any longer’: Trump urges Bondi to prosecute his rivals

And this from 9/19/25?

Clearly, Donald Trump has weaponized the Department of Justice with the intent of prosecuting his political enemies. Trump has stated his intent quite publicly.

Judges are not going to look on this favorably, and perhaps neither will Grand Juries. This high and naked degree of political weaponization has never previously been done in the US.

Huh, have you been out of the country the last few years?

Trump wants justice. Comey violated the law. Comey FAFO.

A convicted felon who never served a day in his life wants justice served? HA!

As far as Comey, since no damning evidence has come out, I find it very hard to believe it's going to in the next week. Trump has been going after him for almost a decade now and he still hasn't succeeded in indicting Comey.

Man, if I had a list of things I don't care about, it would be headlined by "the fate of Comey".
That said, the person who just left DOJ because they wouldn't prosecute him says there isn't enough evidence to do so. 🤷‍♂️

The hot insurance lawyer is ready to step into the breach!

She better hurry, she is up against a Tuesday deadline on Comey.

She has to get a grand jury to review the evidence AND indict by Tuesday. I am not sure where it is with the GJ. Even if the GJ does recommend indictment, the prosecution has an almost impossible case given the previous attorney said there was no case AND Comey would have a very, very strong selective prosecution defense (starting with Trump's words). Even if charged, the case will likely be thrown out in a couple of months.

There is nothing here folks.... other than Comey will have to pay some lawyers for a while, but that will likely be taken care of for him....

Sorry, this is about a potential lie five years ago about events nine years ago. It's selective prosecution. It has the teeth of a 95 year old Kentucky hillbilly..

Trump better shut his yap in he wants an indictment. The top law enforcement officer o the land stating someone is guilty before he even goes to trial may be a sure fire grounds for a mistrial.

That is the thing right there. Trumpers jumping for joy without realize Trump and his DOJ are as dumb as bricks. They just like the tough talk but when the charges - IF there are any - get tossed, this same simple-minded lot will scream - LIBERAL JUDGES, LAWFARE!!
