Is Illinois a prime example of: The people deserve the government they elect

The majority of not only the American Electorate but also the Electorate in many other so called Democratically run Nations, all suffer from the some blinkered point of view.
They hate to be on the losing side, so they vote for whoever accumulates the most media attention.
In the USA with this last Presidential Election, the person who received the most Media attention as well as the most Media approval was Obama.
Most folk vote by Party, not by assessment of the candidates and their propositions of what they intend doing once elected.
Basically most people have not the slightest idea of what any Politician will do once elected.
And they simply do not care before the Election.
Naturally they moan about Politicians after the Election and after some time especially if their elected Candidate and or Party does not do as they would wish.
Having elections after 4 or 6 years of term means that whatever it is that they disagree with is generally long forgotten by the time the next Election rolls round.
Folk believe what they read about their candidates in the local Media.
I would dearly like to see that every Candidate for Public Office is funded solely by the Tax Payer and that private donations are banned.
Imagine the howl of protest that would cause if suggested to Congress?

I didnt realize that Illinois has quite the streak of Governors and other state officials who have felt the bitch slap by the hand of the law.

Illinois Citizens Deserve Corrupt Government
No, the residents of Illinois don't deserve their government. With the exception of Chicago, the state is very conservative. Since Chicago is so large, it pulls an uneven weight with regards to the rest of the state. But at the same time I must also say yes because it is the citizen's responsibility to clean up this garbage they call a government. Chicago politics have been horrible for more than 40 years now and until the citizens demand better, the same trend will continue to take place.
