Trump is a thug in presidential clothes. He is going after everyone who he sees as either his enemy or someone who did the job he is doing now much better than he is doing it. So, if you write a book or an article that does not portray him as being great, i.e., John Bolton. he sends his storm troopers after you. If history sees other presidents as having been better president's as you, he has you investigated by people who are willing to make up info to make them look bad or even have them indicted to take them down to his level. All the while he is turning the government into autocratic rule with him as the dictator and the people around him and his followers, even those on this forum, just going along. Some of those people doing so to thumb their noses at those they see as libs and some even who do so with open or even hidden racism behind their allegiance to Trump. So I see how Ice acts toward everyone as not an outlier, but as an imitation of Trump.

Apparently, making America great again means dividing the nation (and trashing the economy.)

Oh, these are "the good people." We like them. We think of them as "the real Americans." White trash and racists.

And these are "the bad people." We hate them. We are going to do everything in our power to make them miserable. Liberals and immigrants.

We want everyone to be like "the good people." Anyone who doesn't measure up should just go away; or at least hide under a rock. We will send the ones we can out of the country. We don't really care about the economic repercussions. We refuse to admit there are any. And when they become apparent, we'll deal with that later. We're too busy expressing our stupid hatred.

We think billionaires are great. We are totally devoting everything, and living our lives, - for the billionaires. We may not admit it, but at least they support our xenophobia, and we would never want to admit our shortcomings, so that's the deal. They massage our racism, we help them have complete corrupt power over our government.

No matter what we think of Trump personally, demeanor or how he speaks or rants and raves on TruthSocial or whatever else, I would argue Trump surrounded himself with people in key positions of authority that act in a similar way that he does. ICE is acting and engaged in tactics designed to provoke fear, does not always work but these borderline gestapo tactics are designed to show force. But Trump was elected on this, literally this is one of the subjects that secured his 2024 win.

That does not make all of ICE as necessarily acting like Trump does, just means ICE is making a spectacle of all this to make a point as instructed by the likes of Todd Lyons, Madison Sheahan, and ultimately Kristi Noem. Now those three, arguably, are more like Trump than the ICE personnel you see on the street.
