I thought this would be a fun question to ask the good people of debate politics.

What say ye, good folks of Debate Politics?

In the past two weeks, two White House officials have floated the idea that President Donald Trump could suspend habeas corpus. Enshrined in the U.S. Constitution to protect people from being unlawfully detained, habeas claims have emerged as an effective obstacle to the Trump administration’s efforts to deport large numbers of immigrants from the country

Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, bungled answers on Tuesday about habeas corpus, incorrectly asserting that the legal right of people to challenge their detention by the government was actually the president’s “constitutional right” to deport people.

Unsurprising.

We don't need any of that foreigner language crap "habnesis corpawhatsis".

We just what Donald the 1st (BBHN) to be able to do what he says needs to be done.

(BBHN = Blessed Be His Name)

”…the right to writ of habeas corpus "shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."

U.S. Constitution; Article One, Section Nine, Clause 2

Pretty specific. We are NOT being invaded in the way the Constitution and the high courts interpret it. We aren’t experiencing a rebellion. The public safety is being threatened but it’s MAGA doing the threatening.

Maybe we should deport MAGA to gulags outside the US?

Don’t laugh MAGA folk. What YOU bring into existence today might be used against you tomorrow. It’s happened before.

Your poll question was constructed badly.
