I'm not quite so sanguine, but do think you're probably correct if the Dems run a strong candidate - I do not believe the Dem's structural advantage is guaranteed to prevail with a weak candidate. Why not? All she has to do is win the dem nomination. Look...I think until things radically change, the dems are in the WH. It doesnt matter if they run a dog turd with a D next to it.
he's a corporatist, just like most other politicians. there aren't very many politicians that those with money can't buy if they feel like they can save money by firing you. in my state, they can fire you for any reason or for no reason at all. that was probably billed as something potentially awesome for workers, too. i don't know how many more formerly prosperous cities and regions are going to have to rot before we finally wake up. i understand that we are entering a post labor era due to a lot of factors, but right now, it's pay people to work or pay them not to. i prefer the former.
Why not? All she has to do is win the dem nomination. Look...I think until things radically change, the dems are in the WH. It doesnt matter if they run a dog turd with a D next to it. People claim they are 'for' Hillary but thats a lie. (OK...I suppose SOME could actually value and treasure a liar that has done nothing but ride on her husbands coattails, deceive, fail, and along the way, trash the reputations of her husbands victims)They are 'for' Hillary because she is the presumptive nominee.
Besides...if that IS what this is about, Warren and Obama both will get ticker tape parades.
2 things. Here are some stats for you to ponder.
State governors R=31 D=18
House R=245 D188
Senate R=54 D=44
People are sick and tired of liberal failure. There has been a wave of Democrat demise, put a D in front of their name and they are toast, I don't care what they are running for. Hillery and Warren included.
2 things.
1-I dont think that matters when it comes to presidential election cycles. Thats the one time people tend to bother to vote.
2-Should a republican win...how will we know the difference?
You REALLY think there is a dimes difference between the GOP and Dems at the fed level?1. I said people are sick and tired liberal failure, that includes Hillery and whoever with a D
2. Easy we won't have a county that looks like the 20 worst cities run by Democrats. Did you know the 10 poorest cities are run by democrats and the 10 most dangerous cities are run by democrats. At least you will know our country will not look like one of those cities that Obama has been trying to make this country into.
A corporation or any business for that matter is there to make a profit. Businesses fail, owners may lose everything they had, business do what is necessary to stay afloat. Call that survival instinct. Workers get fired in most cases as they are not needed or the company is forced to cut back do to economic reasons. Workers get fired for poor performance. This is all tied in to a company being successful and keeping workers paid and weeding out the non performers. A company that would carry a poor performing worker is making it harder for the company to survive and it's not fair to the other performing workers.
As for cities rotting. Do you know that the top 10 poorest cities in the US are run by Democrats and the top 10 dangerous cities are run by Democrats. Those titles are nothing to cheer about. There is no jobs in those 20 democrat run cites let alone someone getting laid off. Jobs equal prosperity and higher wages, always has. This last quarter our economy had a -.07 GDP meaning we are now going backwards.
You REALLY think there is a dimes difference between the GOP and Dems at the fed level?
People will vote for whoever promises them the most stuff. Non presidential election cycles are always down cycles. We'll see.
yeah, yeah, i know the talking points. you might think you're a high performing worker with a secure job, but you could be fired at the whim of some asshole next week if you live in an at will state. it has happened to me. i got canned because my boss's boss's boss got promoted to emerging markets in China, and the dude who replaced him didn't know me. i had been given verbal assurances that my employment there would be made permanent, as i was an "independent contractor," another little scam that they like to pull to **** over workers. i was one of the first independent contractors to be promoted to important internal committees, and i would have been a loyal employee there long term. they ****ed up. but the asshole government here in my state made sure that i had absolutely no recourse. i don't buy into the "non-performing worker" bull**** anymore.
there is no real and viable pro-labor party here in the states. **** the duopoly.
you know what, man? these people are your countrymen. **** teams. we need good, secure jobs, and letting a tiny percentage control most of the money and buy favorable policies while screwing over workers is not going to solve the problem. we need to send our kids to college without bankrupting them, and then to hire them to work more secure jobs with more upward mobility so that they don't spend their lives scraping by on public assistance. capitalism is sold as the system that can be the ladder for the largest number of people to have the greatest standard of living. i believe that. but something is definitely wrong right now. i'm working my way through an anti-worker job market that is HEAVILY weighted in favor of employers right now. i don't want my kids to have it worse.
In bold. Yes you are right, and who wold that be. Environmentalist who Obama pandered to to kill Keystone.
And you are also correct. This is not a labor market. It never will be until JOBs increase and when that happens wages grow. Now what policies encourage growth, it sure is not Obama's policies nor is it the policies of the 10 poorest cities run by democrats, nor is it the 10 most dangerous cities run by democrats. One small example of non-growth Obama policy - kill Keystone. In spite of thousands of union paying jobs, in spite of permanent refining jobs and in spite of all the tax revenue to the states and the fed that is so desperately needed. Another example is killing the coal industry. These two policies ares a direct result of pandering to the environmentalist. And not giving one damn consideration to creating good jobs. Get a republican president and Keystone will get approed within the first month. That will be the first of many changes that get this country moving again.
Then you chant free collage for everyone. No friggn way.
That would be worse than any of the handout programs being the most abused, more fraud, students going to school for 20 yrs, people going to school to not get an education but to have a free lunch. K-12 is free, but there I believe in a voucher system that parents and students can choose the school of their choice based on performance. After the 12th grade get a yob and work part time and go to school if you desire. Further not everyone is collage bound, we have trades in this country that build the buildings we live and work in, bridges we drive over etc. etc. Then you have to have a trade school for every potential job a person could work at and that would have to be free as well.
Remember we are in debt up to our ears and when Obama leaves we will be over 19 trillion and growing.
People are tired of failed liberal polices and the wave of change is in motion.
Governors R=31 D=18
House R=245 D=188
Senate R=45 D=44
What a line!Do you know that the top 10 poorest cities in the US are run by Democrats and the top 10 dangerous cities are run by Democrats. Those titles are nothing to cheer about. There is no jobs in those 20 democrat run cites let alone someone getting laid off. Jobs equal prosperity and higher wages, always has. This last quarter our economy had a -.07 GDP meaning we are now going backwards.
democrats should have used keystone as a bargaining chip for something that actually helps the middle class. that was a stupid hill to die on. but i don't believe for a second that an electable republican or democratic president will do anything to help my work situation, nor will they enact policies that will make my working life easier so that i can do it myself. my best bet is probably to move away from my anti-labor state to a state in which my loyalty and hard work will be even slightly rewarded, or at least not be punished.
i support debt free access to college for all students. i would agree to make it need based to a point, and to require completion of the degree. putting a significant paywall in front of post secondary education is stupid national policy.
we need to bring in more revenue and seriously reallocate our resources to address the debt. i would start by ending all of the wars and spending that money domestically. if the first world decides that it needs a military, it needs to build and fund one.
go, team.
i'm not interested in hyperpartisan bull****. i'm interested in brainstorming solutions to problems.
I will say it again. Jobs create prosperity and wage growth for everyone, including you. I have said, liberals don't care about jobs, never have never will.
It's just another abused program. How about staring with a voucher system to give students the choice of school based on performance.
Ending all wars is not a choice, not that easy. War comes to us, did you forgot those people jumping to their death from the world trade center rather than burn to death. If you want to blow that event off. Fine but terrorist are growing more than ever and the 9-11's will be a common event. Do you want to live or die like that, I don't.
Yeah now the Pubs are winning
Me too, and my solution is "jobs" policies to create a pro growth economy. Jobs create prosperity and wage growth. With comes from that is a comfortable living, being able to buy a house and car and care for family, pay for collage etc. etc.
But if your going to follow the Obama doctrine for the economy. That has proven to be a failed policy. Need to switch gears on that one.
What a line!
And Dems also control most of the top 10 richest cities!
Here ya' go my friend:Put the list out there. And don't forget to add in the list of the most dangerous or I should say the most safest.
We already know that the dems control the 10 poorest cities AND the 10 most dangerous cities.
horse****.
we're talking about college, not high school.
how much more in taxes are you personally willing to pay to maintain a state of endless war? (in USD)
zero ****s given. i don't fall for the my team vs yours bull****. i want the best working conditions, job security, and wages for the largest number of people. we are most likely on the SAME team : workers.
this is looking more and more hopeless. please pay more attention to my arguments and less attention to what you wish my arguments were so that you can find some hyperpartisan foothold.
But I guess the big question is: "Why is this even about parties"?
They're both B.S.
And, neither can I!Good point, I can't argue with that.
Horse **** that jobs don't equal prosperity and wage growth. I see your not for jobs either. Typical liberal
I see you avoided answering that voucher question. You want free collage but how about first allowing students from K - 12 to have a choice of schools based on performance. That would go a long way in our children getting a better education
:doh endless war, I see you think nothing of the the people that jumped to death rather than burn to death on 9-11 and you think nothing of Pearl Harbor while our service men and woman were beating on the hulls of ships with no escape. You also think nothing of our constitution that calls for our government to protect it's citizen, throw the constitution out. Yes liberals would love that.
bleh. go team nonsense. i'm not interested.
as long as it isn't used as a tool to defund public schools, and then to punish them for performing poorly with less funds. that's what they do in my state.
yeah, **** this. goodbye.
I hate to burst anybody's bubble, but the public will never know what the treaty does, even way after it has been made public. .
Neither can most of the people in congress and senate. If you remember correctly Nancy Pelosi said we got to pass it so that way we can find out what is in it.Very few members of the public can accurately describe what is in the ACA, and that is perhaps the most public, most widely discussed piece of legislation out there.
You know this how seeing how you just said basically just said most of the public is too stupid to understand the bill? Or are you believing whatever the pundits on the left are telling you?The anti-arms trafficking treaty a couple years ago was blocked in the Senate because the public for some reason thought it said exactly the opposite of what it said. Same with the background check bill. The reality is that the public in general, and especially the right, just think bills and treaties say whatever their preferred pundits say they say, and that rarely has much relationship to what is actually in them
